Sarutobi Hiruzen stood tall, pride radiating from him.
Usually, when he promoted the Will of Fire through his speeches, Shimura Danzo, Mitokado Hamura, and Koharu often thought it was unnecessary and overly dramatic. Excessively preaching about the Will of Fire felt contrived. Yet now, with the realization of its power and influence, Hiruzen saw it manifest in the village as he had always envisioned. How could he not feel a sense of pride? He almost wanted to lecture Danzo about its importance, but he refrained, instead enjoying a moment of quiet satisfaction, smoking his pipe.
"You mean... Uchiha Shisui and Reiki," Danzo muttered, still trying to process it. "They're really on your side?"
Danzo's disbelief was evident. After all, his feud with Tsunade had roots in his failed attempts to recruit Reiki, who had disrupted many of his plans. The Root Organization had even orchestrated several attacks on him. During the prolonged interrogation, Reiki would undoubtedly have discovered these plots. How could he, after learning such truths, still support the Will of Fire?
"Take a look," Hiruzen said, handing Danzo the mission report Minato had just submitted.
Danzo's eyes twitched as he read. Were these words truly spoken by Reiki? It felt surreal—dreams didn't align with reality so starkly.
"Is it because of the Hokage title?" Danzo pondered. The title held a unique allure for the young generation. No one aspired to join the Root Organization or become a figure like Danzo. The position of Hokage carried a prestige that shaped perceptions and allegiance.
For the first time, Danzo felt a pang of envy toward Hiruzen's title. Just an identity, yet it could shape the convictions of a prodigious ninja.
"Alright, let's regroup and prepare," Hiruzen said. "Things will become clearer from here on out. Of course, you may need to handle some backlash during this period."
Satisfied, Hiruzen walked to the window, gazing out at Konoha's streets. He exhaled a thick cloud of smoke, a confident smile on his lips. The sight of Hiruzen's self-assurance made Danzo's resentment simmer as he turned and left, afraid his true thoughts would slip out.

The interrogation at the Interrogation Department lasted two grueling weeks. When it concluded, Reiki left with a sense of bittersweet satisfaction. He had extracted valuable insights from the Root Organization's members but was disappointed that Danzo had not been part of this round.
Returning to his room, Reiki flopped onto his bed. "System, open the surprise gift package," he said, bringing up his system panel to inspect his accumulated rewards.
**[Ding! Congratulations, host, for acquiring chakra essence x21.]**
**[Ding! Congratulations, host, for obtaining...]**
**[Ding! Congratulations, host, for receiving the Immortal Jade.]**
"System, recycle the unnecessary items," Reiki instructed. He had amassed over 3000 units of solid chakra, ninja tools, special consumables, potions, and more during the interrogation. Most importantly, his healing points now surpassed a significant threshold.
"System, open the exchange mall," he said with a grin.

Morning came, and Reiki awoke, stretching before heading into the living room where Shizune had breakfast ready.
"Senior Brother Reiki, Lady Tsunade said to come to the hospital after breakfast," Shizune said gently. She had grown taller over time, thanks in part to the medicinal support Reiki provided, though her nurturing demeanor remained unchanged.
"Understood," Reiki replied, eating quickly before heading to the courtyard.
"Tsunade, it's over. The Root Organization has been dealt with," he informed her, anticipating her response.
"I see," Tsunade acknowledged. "Reiki, Konoha has seen an increase in missions lately. The ninja world is becoming unstable. Because our success rate is the highest, it's drawing unwanted attention. Stay out of any dangerous entanglements for now and focus on training."
"I understand, Lady Tsunade. I'll help with the medical team and stick to basic treatments. The rest of my time will be devoted to training," Reiki assured her.
With that, he strapped on his protective gear and began his morning exercises.

At the Root Organization headquarters, Danzo sat in silence, a scowl etched on his face. The losses were significant.
"Danzo-sama, half of the Root ninjas have been compromised. The curse seals have all been removed by Reiki. If this continues, more will desert us. Worse, planting new curse seals now would be risky…"
"I understand. Dismissed," Danzo growled. The situation was dire. The very foundation of the Root was crumbling.
"Danzo-sama, you seem troubled," came a familiar voice.
"Orochimaru," Danzo muttered, seeing the notorious Sannin before him. Frustration bubbled to the surface. If Orochimaru had been more careful with his experiments and reputation, none of this would be happening. Had Orochimaru become Hokage, these issues would be nonexistent.
"Are you concerned about manpower, Danzo-sama? I've found a solution," Orochimaru said, a sly smile curling his lips.
Danzo's eyes narrowed as Orochimaru unrolled a scroll, summoning a figure through a plume of white smoke.
"This…?" Danzo's eyes widened in astonishment as he considered the possibilities.
"Try it out. It's still experimental, but with enough resources…" Orochimaru said, his tongue flicking out as he grinned.
