Bab 67: **Chapter 67: Free Treatment, Strange Boy**

After finalizing the trade, Reiki and his team began combing the battlefield for anything valuable—kunai, shurikens, detonating charms—all items they could sell or reuse. The motivation wasn't just about earning money, though. Reiki's main goal was experience.

In the recent skirmish, Reiki had discovered a new insight: whenever someone used one of his potions, he received a feedback of medical points. This realization fueled his choice to trade potions; he could earn points and level up faster.

Once they finished cleaning the battlefield, the caravan resumed its journey. Reiki, though slightly disappointed, had been hoping for more attackers to gain experience. By the following evening, they reached their destination without further incident.

After completing the mission and receiving their payment scroll, the three found an inn to spend the night.

"Tsunade-sensei left instructions for us to rest here for a couple of days," Reiki said, holding up a note Tsunade had slipped to him after the mission was over. She'd been passing by a gambling parlor and, predictably, got sidetracked.

"Can we explore the village, then?" Nozuki asked, her usual cheerfulness returning after the mission's end.

"Sure, Shisui can go with you tomorrow," Reiki replied. "I've got something else to take care of."

The next morning, Shisui and Nozuki went off to explore while Reiki wandered through the village on his own mission. Known as the Village Hidden in the Grass, it was a place where many talented but drifting individuals came to rest, or so the rumors went.

As he walked, Reiki called out to people along the way, offering his medical services for free.

"Uncle, is your arm injured? I'm a medical ninja; let me take care of it for you at no charge!"

Reiki's goal was simple: to gain medical experience. As his medical skills improved, Reiki realized he could further grow his powers through direct practice. He worked through the street, healing any wounds or illnesses detected by his system, replenishing his chakra with potions when needed.

As word spread, more villagers flocked to Reiki. Even some healthy individuals queued up, wanting to meet the young healer who was treating everyone for free.

Soon enough, a line had formed. By noon, people from every corner of the village had heard about him, some coming for treatment and others simply out of curiosity. Reiki continued diligently until the evening, treating as many as he could.

But with nightfall approaching, he raised his finger and announced, "I need a break, folks. If you want treatment this evening, there will be an overtime fee of 1,000 yen."

Though some who weren't truly in need dropped out, others lined up eagerly, the price oddly reassuring them of the legitimacy of Reiki's skills.

Returning to the inn that night, Shisui and Nozuki overheard the buzz surrounding Reiki.

"Should we help Reiki?" Nozuki asked, slightly worried about how busy he seemed.

"We're not medical ninjas, though," Shisui replied, uncertain how they could assist.

Before he could finish, Reiki called out to them. "Shisui, come collect payment and register names. Nozuki, can you help me organize the supplies?"

By the time they wrapped up, it was nearly noon the following day. Reiki had treated the first batch of villagers and handed Shisui a small bag of yen. "Take this to the gambling house and pass it to Tsunade-sensei," he said with a chuckle.

After the others left, Reiki noticed a small figure in the shadows, following him to the inn.

"Come on out," Reiki said, smiling toward the doorway.

A little boy slowly entered, looking wary.

"Hungry?" Reiki asked, noticing the child's frail frame. "Let's get you some food first. Your body needs the strength."

The boy hesitated, muttering, "I don't have any money."

Reiki had sensed the boy's presence the night before, lurking at the edge of his perception, but the boy had never approached him. Today, however, the boy's courage seemed to have won out.

Reiki had another reason for his interest: the system had marked the boy's condition in a bright red. The boy wasn't just malnourished; he seemed to have a severe, possibly congenital condition affecting his body's energy flow.

After he'd eaten, Reiki took the boy back to his treatment area.

"Nozuki, here's some food," he said, handing her a bowl before turning to the boy. He gently placed his hand on the child's arm, using his chakra to inspect the boy's condition.

"What's your name?" Reiki asked.

The boy's eyes dropped as he replied quietly, "Han. Am I… am I going to die?"

Reiki's smile softened. "No, but I need to know why your body is like this if I'm going to help you."

Han looked down, thinking for a moment, then answered.
