Bab 15: Chapter 14

The Exile of a Friend

Part 1 (If you don't know this is going to be based off of Planet Hulk)

"Bruce,where are you?)

Kade would check up on Bruce Banner and The Hulk every week to talk and catch up on some things. He knew Bruce was lonely always cooped up in his lab so he promised him he would visit. But for some reason when Kade went to his lab today it was empty with no trace of Bruce or the hulk. His work was still there Bruce would never leave his work messy and out in the open he was a clean freak which meant something was wrong and Kade had a bad feeling.

Kade flew over the city of New York, his super-hearing straining for any sign of Bruce Banner. The familiar sound of Bruce's heartbeat or the thunderous roar of the Hulk should have been detectable, but there was nothing. It was as if Bruce had vanished from the face of the Earth, and that was impossible. Bruce, and especially the Hulk, didn't just disappear. They were too loud, too noticeable.

Kade landed on a rooftop, scanning the horizon with his X-ray vision, but still, there was no trace of his friend. His concern deepened. Something was wrong. He needed answers, and he knew just the person who might have them.

Stark Tower

Kade arrived at Stark Tower within moments, his mind racing with questions. He found Tony Stark sitting in his penthouse, staring at a shot of vodka on the table in front of him. Tony had quit drinking years ago, yet there he was, fixated on the glass.

"Tony?" Kade called out, concern evident in his voice.

Tony looked up, his eyes filled with a mix of sorrow and regret. "Kade," he acknowledged, his voice weary.

Kade took a step closer, glancing at the untouched drink. "Tony, what's going on? I can't find Bruce. It's like he disappeared. Do you know where he is?"

Tony sighed deeply, the weight of his actions pressing down on him. "He's gone, Kade."

Kade's eyes widened in shock. "Gone? What do you mean gone? Where is he?"

Tony's gaze fell to the floor. "He wanted a quiet life where he wouldn't hurt anyone, so we made it come true."

"We?" Kade echoed, confusion and suspicion growing.

From the shadows, Mr. Fantastic, Doctor Strange, and Black Bolt stepped forward, their expressions serious and filled with regret. Reed Richards, the ever-stoic scientist; Stephen Strange, the sorcerer with an aura of mysticism; and Black Bolt, the silent king whose very voice could shatter mountains.

Kade's eyes darted between them. "What did you do?" he demanded, his voice rising.

The three remained silent, their faces somber. Kade's frustration boiled over, and he yelled, "What did you do?!"

Tony finally spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. "Use that super vision of yours and look up."

Kade, confused, directed his gaze skyward. He pushed his vision to its limits and saw a spaceship leaving Earth's orbit at incredible speed. Using his X-ray vision, he saw Bruce Banner, unconscious and strapped down inside.

Kade's fists clenched in anger and disbelief. He was about to launch himself into the sky when Reed's elongated arm wrapped around his shoulder, holding him back.

"Kade, wait," Reed said softly. "Bruce wanted peace. He wanted a chance to live without the fear of the Hulk hurting anyone. We sent him to a planet where he can finally have that. A paradise where he and the Hulk can live in harmony."

Kade shook his head, struggling to control his emotions. "And you just decided to send him away? Without his consent? Without telling anyone?"

Stephen stepped forward, his voice calm and composed. "We made a difficult decision. Bruce was suffering. The Hulk was a danger to everyone, including himself. This was the only way to give him what he truly wanted."

Kade's mind raced. He looked up at the spaceship, now a distant speck against the backdrop of stars. He thought about Bruce, his friend who had fought so hard to control the monster within him, who had been a hero despite the odds.

"Are you sure this is what he wanted?" Kade asked, his voice tinged with desperation.

Reed nodded solemnly. "We've known Bruce for a long time, Kade. He's always been tormented by the Hulk. This was his chance for peace."

Kade's heart ached with the weight of the decision before him. Should he go after Bruce, bring him back to face his demons on Earth, or let him have this chance at peace, however forced it might be?

The silence hung heavy in the room, each hero lost in their thoughts. Kade's shoulders slumped, the moral quandary tearing at him.

Tony finally broke the silence, his voice pained. "We did what we thought was best, Kade. It wasn't an easy decision, but Bruce deserves a chance to be happy."

Kade looked around at his fellow heroes, seeing the genuine sadness and regret in their eyes. He knew they weren't acting out of malice, but out of a desire to protect their friend and the world.

He took a deep breath, his decision weighing heavily on him. "I hope you're right," he said quietly, turning away from the window. "For all our sakes, I hope you're right."

As he walked towards the exit, the enormity of what had happened settled over him. He could only hope that Bruce would find the peace he so desperately sought, and that they had truly done the right thing.

The chapter ended with Kade stepping out into the night, the city still recovering from the chaos that had become a part of their lives. He looked up one last time at the stars, silently wishing his friend well on his journey into the unknown.
