Bab 273: Exposition

Vulcan, Gaia, Rune, Yani, Tank and the not so little one all manifested in bursts of red light as they were released from their balls. Immediately the arena we were standing on became much more crowed and a sandstorm went to get kicked up because of Gaia's ability before she cut it off instantly. Byron and his Aggron looked over my team seriously and the Aggron that was pushing champion level at level one forty five even looked a bit nervous. I couldn't exactly blame it as even while at the elite level my pokemon were monstrously powerful.-

If I had to guess I'd even go as far as to say they could go toe to toe with a pokemon only ten levels weaker than this Aggron individually. Together though they could quite easily dismantle this Aggron and it knew it. Pokemon were usually quite keen about power levels and could understand roughly the gap between them in a single meeting with a few exceptions. This first exception is if a pokemon was hiding it's power in some way or another. The second was if the gap was too big.-

In the instant this occurred all the weaker pokemon would understand was that the other was WAY out of their league. In the exact opposite vein however the stronger pokemon would perceive the weaker as little more than an ant in terms of danger to themselves. It also helped that strong pokemon tended to project their power specifically so they could make it clear that this was their territory. The final exception was in the case of legendary pokemon that by virtue of their very nature appeared powerful even if they really weren't. Due to the very nature of a legendary pokemons existence they had a innate sense of suppression on other pokemon that weren't also legendries.-

Even a newborn legendary had this aspect to them. It could of course be ignored depending on experience and skill but it was always present. The way this suppression manifested was different with each species of legendary but research on it suggested that it may be based on the particular divinity belonging to that species. I should clarify that humans for the most part actually didn't know about divinities or at least they didn't according to what I could find on the topic.-

Despite this there was research that got really close to the topic as I myself understood it but I was no expert, merely better informed than the vast majority. Anyways Byron's Aggron could at a glance understand that my team was comprised of terrifyingly strong pokemon and oddly enough three legendries, a fact that clearly confused it. As far as it knew only Hades and Vulcan were legendries and yet it could feel the same sort of suppression from Gaia as well. "Easy there Leona, they are guests not enemies." Byron said soothingly after noticing the metaphorical hackles of his pokemon rising at my teams appearance.-

"Grooon!" the large steel type rumbled out making it's discomfort clear. I chuckled seeing this "Everyone spread out so that there isn't so much pressure on our hosts." I commanded and my team scattered across the arena which let the Aggron relax a bit. "I'm honestly surprised that your team brought out such a reaction from Leona, she only acts this way around the Sinnoh four or champions pokemon." Byron said honestly. I shook my head "It's hardly a surprise that they would accomplish this given the way I train them. I obviously won't be sharing my secrets but I can tell you that at the same level only another pokemon trained in the same way could match them, type advantage or not." I said honestly.-

The training method most trainers used while fairly effective wasn't the best way to approach the matter. See the world trained the pokemon through repetition and battles to stimulate potential but creative use of energy and moves as drastically missing. Occasionally you'd see some hints of it but the vast majority of pokemon battles came down to using tried and true methods or straight up brute force. My training method by comparison was to squeeze out every drop of energy use in creative and strange ways.-

My pokemon as a result were qualitatively superior than any of those trained the normal way. This wasn't bragging or showing off but a simple and pure fact. I'm not saying that the normal method is bad or even wrong but it was too limiting by design. I doubt it was intentional but by training repetition at the limit of what was thought possible that "limit" became a stopping point, a bottleneck if you would. It was a bit like when you exercised in the exact same way for a long period of time.-

While at some point your body would be able to easily complete your exercise it wouldn't be able to go past that point unless something changed. In this case the exercise's just increased in intensity but not in utilization which created a hard limit that was difficult to surpass. Byron looked surprised at my claim but didn't outright refute me because it was well documented that I very rarely lied. People had gone looking just so they could discredit me but even in the case where it would have harmed me to tell the truth I had.-

There were a few inconsistencies sometimes but most people chalked it up to me not wanting to tell the whole story rather than outright lying about something. One such inconsistency was a rather popular topic about myself, where the fuck did I come from. As far as the league records across the globe were concerned I simply didn't exist until I popped up at the foot of Mt. Gray nearly a year ago now. That wouldn't be strange since unregistered people while uncommon weren't unheard of. No the odd part came in when they went searching for anyone that could have known me before I showed up at the mountain.-

No one knew me or recognized me from before that time across the entire league controlled regions. Anyways as I said though it was well documented that I didn't really lie much. So Byron was surprised to hear what I said about my team. This also made him curious exactly how I trained my team. "I don't suppose you be willing to give me a hint would you?" he asked only to receive a blank stare. "I thought so." he said with a shrug.
