As Richard drifted off to sleep, a soft voice called him.

"Babe?"

"Hmm?"

"How did you find me?"

Richard's eyes snapped open, and he propped himself up on his elbow to stare at her. "I had your text message traced. Then remembered the original address you told me and began heading there. Then we got a 911 call that confirmed it so I came in. You remember the rest. Good job by the way on being so resourceful. I'm very proud of you."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. How come you messaged me? And not Mariama or anyone else? You had no way to know if I was around."

At his question, he saw Celeste give him one of her few genuine smiles as she reached out and stroked his cheek.

"I didn't think about it. You were just the first one I thought of when I was in trouble. I knew you would find me or make them pay and either one was fine with me. Thank you for getting to me in time."
