Bab 58: Well… what do I do now…?
An intense pain shot through her head. Right after she felt her right eye was burning, there was an unbearable gouging sensation, and Alice screamed out, suppressing her head.
The Bandersnatch moved of its own volition, dragging her back onto the roof of the train. She rolled onto the roof helplessly, and Alice clutched her trembling hands as she bled profusely from her right eye.
The shock of being knocked over by the train and the pain of having a dagger stuck in her right eye; the shock of being run over quickly dispersed and disappeared, the intense pain in her right eye refused to stop. It hurt so acutely that it was impossible to think about anything. The vision in her remaining left eye flickered scarlet.
"So I struck it on spot huh…"
Snorting, Humpty reached into his pocket again. He grabbed the iron gravel out of his hand. The Jabberwock came up to the roof of the train after them. As Alice cowered and trembled, Humpty said quietly, "You… don't understand your own Seventh, do you?"
Alice managed to rise to her feet, her throat churning convulsively.
I have to fight.
Or I would be killed.
If they kill me.
Jack and Iberis.
I can't go save them.
That simple truth was the only thing running through her mind. Alice let out a yell, grabbed the dagger stuck in her right eye and withdrew it. Her right eye socket, which had been severed from her eyelid, was crushed and made into a mess.
Tossing the dagger aside, Alice slumped back down, shivering. Humpty narrowed his eyes and watched her. He brought up the arm opposite the one holding the iron gravel and held up a finger.
"I'll tell you something. The Bandersnatch is not invincible."
"…"
Alice, uncertain of what was said and trying to suppress the pain through clenched teeth, looked at the egg monster.
"That's a Nightmare that moves in response to your psyche. It works in conjunction with the instinctive part of your consciousness. In other words…" Humpty grinned hideously. "It won't protect you from attacks coming from areas you don't recognize. We already figured that out."
The Jabberwock stepped forward and folded his arms.
"Once we've dealt with this Alice, we'll retrieve the core of the Hatter and the others. It's likely that it's in the train that escaped earlier."
"The Red Queen must have disposed of the remaining Alice in the shelter. Let's meet up with her quickly."
–Must have disposed of.
Yes, that was what Humpty said.
Alice's blood rushed to her head when she heard that.
That's right.
My right eye, what does it matter?
This pain, what does it matter?
Quickly, I have to go quickly.
I have to meet Jack soon.
I want him to hug me again.
I want to be hugged again.
Tightly this time.
And don't separate with me.
Never to be separated again.
"Dispose huh… I won't let that happen…"
Alice gnashed her teeth and squeezed out the words. Rainbow-colored fluctuation leaked out of her mouth at a terrific rate.
"You guys… right at here… I'll kill you both…"
Her body shook as she glared at the two Nightmares with her remaining left eye.
"I… will…! At here! You guys! I will kill you both!" Alice howled.
It was such a spirit that Humpty and the Jabberwock immediately bent down and adopted a fighting stance; it was a "shout" that carried an abnormal sense of gravity.
"Jabberwock, you go ahead!" Humpty yelled.
"If you recover the Hatter and the others, you can regenerate them! And then it won't be too late!"
"I won't let youuuuuu!"
From Alice's crushed right eye, rainbow-colored fluctuation… of the Bandersnatch erupted like a flame. The fluctuation enveloped Alice's entire body.
It rose from her petite body like steam. Her hair was upside down and Alice's body herself became translucent and shimmering.
In the following instant, Alice's body disappeared. The roof of the train at her feet shattered, and she flew through the air. She moved so swiftly that she was practically unseen.
In a flash, she closed in on the Jabberwock and slammed her fist into his abdomen. The Jabberwock, which hadn't been able to react completely, was split in two from his torso and blasted away. The upper half of the Nightmare's body pierced the wall of the tunnel.
There was a cloud of smoke, but then the Jabberwock with no physical defects flew out of there, and Alice, who had flattened the roof of the train by stomping it, grabbed his head and crashed it into Humpty. Like a bullet, the Jabberwock went flying and struck the egg monster, causing the two to squirm and blast off the train. Once again, Alice's body disappeared, and she swung her clenched fist at Humpty, who was smashed against the tunnel wall… and pierced him with all her force.
"Gah…"
Her fist that struck Humpty's human-skinned eyebrow dug in halfway. His egg-shaped body instantly cracked, and egg whites and yolks poured out of it.
"Gi… yaaaahhh!"
The egg monster collapsed while screaming, spewing out ominous liquid from his body.
"… Humpty!"
The Jabberwock shouted as he tumbled onto the tracks, firmly pressing his feet on the ground and leaping at Alice. When Alice grasped the yellow ball out of the center of Humpty's body, rainbow-colored fluctuation erupted from her body, and she lifted her right hand.
The "space" gathered in her right hand. Alice swung it down at the Jabberwock without hesitation, like the high-density that had killed the White Knight. With a roar, flames exploded upwards.
The lion-headed Nightmare, unable to resist, was crushed and black stains spread across the ground. There, the Bandersnatch extended from Alice's body, and her small body was drawn into the fast-moving train.

Wordlessly, the Jabberwock was left standing. Before his eyes lay a mess of shattered eggshells and stained contents.
"… Tch…"
He clicked his tongue and stomped on a piece of Humpty's human skin, which was lying on the ground with a look of agony on his face. He then glanced back and forth between the direction Alice's train had gone and the direction they had come from. Within the darkness, his lion face… and his eyes glowed mysteriously.
"Well… what do I do now…?"
His mumbling mouth contorted into a small smile. Then the Jabberwock stepped forward.
