Bab 86: Chapter 62: Soul vs Bruno
The next day arrived quickly as Soul got ready to face off his next challenge, Bruno the fighting-type expert.
He arrived once again in the arena where the atmosphere was still as lively as ever. He sighed as he looked at Bruno, who was sitting cross-legged on the ground.
Commentator: Hello, hello, everyone! Today our challenger Soul would be fighting against the second member of the elite-four, Bruno! His fighting- and rock-type Pokemon are seriously strong, but would it be enough to stop Soul and his team?
Judge: This will be a four versus four battle. The rules will stay the same as yesterday, so bring forth your Pokemon!
Both of them took out their Pokeball as they sent out their Pokemon. Bruno sent out Onix while Soul sent out Noivern.
Judge: Are both of the contesters ready?
Both of them nodded.
Judge: Then lets the battle begin!
Bruno went for the first attack with Rock Throw, but Noivern dodged it easily by moving to the side.
Soul: Steel Wing.
Noivern went to hit Onix's forehead as he dodged an attack by its tail. He flapped his wing as he used Agility without no one noticing and flew back to his side of the battlefield.
Bruno: Onix are you alright?
It nodded as it stood up proud, even though it was injured from the previous attack.
Bruno: Good, then use Stone Edge!
Several blue rocks begin to rise within the ground as Noivern dodged it several times.
Soul: Use Dragon Rush.
Noivern engulfs itself with dragon-energy as he flew up and dived down towards the unprepared Onix, who got hit hard and fainted.
Judge: Onix is unable to battle, the winner of this match is Noivern!
Noivern used Agility again before Bruno returned Onix to its Pokeball. Bruno looked at Soul before he smiled and sent out his next Pokemon, which was a Hitmonchan.
Commentator: Looks like Bruno is at type disadvantage her folks, how will he get out of this situation?
Bruno: Hitmonchan use Thunder Punch!
Soul: Use Hurricane.
Hitmonchan jumped high up towards Noivern with one of its hands engulf in electric-energy. Noivern, however, didn't bother with it as he flapped his wings. Soon enough a hurricane was formed as Hitmonchan was dragged in it.
Bruno: Hitmonchan!
When the hurricane disappeared, Hitmonchan could be seen falling as it fainted from the spot.
Commentator: Looks likes Noivern used a powerful flying-type move to take down HItmonchan, who stood no chance when it was on air!
Judge: HItmonchan is unable to battle, the winner of this battle is Noivern!
Bruno returned HItmonchan to its Pokeball as he sent out another Pokemon, which was a Hitmonlee.
Bruno: Hitmonlee use Double Kick, just as how we have practice!
Hitmonlee kicked the ground as several rocks flew up. It then kicks all of the rocks towards Noivern, who dodged it easily.
Hitmonlee kept kicking down the ground as clouds of dust begin to cover the whole arena, and Noivern was getting annoyed by it.
Soul: Noivern use Gust and remove the dust.
Noivern did what Soul said as he flapped his wings once more. The cloud of dust around the battlefield begins to dissipate.
Suddenly a shadow figure could be seen rushing towards Noivern, who was busy removing the dust.
Soul: Noivern dodge the attack from below!
Noivern, who now saw Hitmonlee was pointing its leg towards him tried to dodge, but somehow, Hitmonlee seemed to be able to read on where Noivern was moving at, as it adjusts its direction, and hit Noivern on the stomach with Mega Kick.
Soul: 'What happened!?'
He thought as Hitmonlee was falling when the most unexpected thing happened, after Hitmonlee's surprise attack.
Noivern flapped his wings as he looked angrily at Hitmonlee and used Boomburst.
Hitmonlee, who was still falling, didn't have a chance to dodge as it was hit by Boomburst. It fell to the ground as a large crater was created from it.
The arena was silent until the judge started speaking.
Judge: HItmonlee is out of battle, the winner of this match is Noivern!
Commentator: Oh my god! Did you all saw that!? Bruno's Hitmonlee has managed to hit Noivern with a Mega Kick, but somehow Noivern managed to make a comeback with Boomburst!
The arena begins to cheers, as all of them started to yell for Noivern and Soul's name. In their heart, Soul became their idol.
Bruno sighed as he returned the fainted Hitmonlee to its Pokeball. This time, he stood up as he took out his last Pokeball.
Bruno: Looks like this is our limit, at least… let's show them our results of training!
He said as he throws a Pokeball as a Pokemon with four arms came out of it. This was the final evolution of Machop, it was a Machamp.
Commentator: Oh, oh! Looks like Bruno have finally sent out his ace! Let's see how he will perform in this battle with his Pokemon!
Bruno: Machamp use Super Power!
Soul: Use Boomburst to the fullest, Noivern.
Machamp body became even more bulk as it jumped towards Noivern at a fast pace. Noivern sent out a powerful wave from his ears.
When both of the moves collides, a shock wave was created, making some of the audience falls.
Bruno: Don't give up, Machamp!
Hearing this, Machamp pushed its whole body to the fullest as it begins to push forwards Noivern.
When some of the peoples thought that Machamp would win the clash, Noivern increased the attack as Machamp fell backward and hit the ground with a large crater.
The wind blows around the stadium from the attack, as some of the audiences got some dust on their eyes or mouth.
Machamp could be seen fainted from the crater as Bruno returned it to its Pokeball.
Judge: Machamp has fainted, which means Soul and his team would move forwards to the next challenge!
The audience cheers as both Soul and Bruno gave each other a handshake before leaving the battlefield.
The day ended normally as Soul got ready for the next battle.
