Hospital Director Bo looked at Zuo Cidian with an "are you serious" expression, but he still referred to the three doctors as doctors when he called them. 

Zuo Cidian could understand what he said a little, pouted, and said, "Can't you translate my respect for them? It seems like your English isn't any much better."

"There are only those few words to show respect to foreigners, calling someone 'doctor' is already a respectful form of address." Hospital Director Bo's English was just about that level. After all, he had spent more time living in the country and did not have much experience of studying and working overseas.
