"So, what should we do with this brat?" Liao Yun pointed her index finger toward the boy along with her irritation.
Of course, Liao Yun was not fond of being a nanny as she didn't get along with the tribesmen since her young age.
But Fu Tao was the opposite.
"Let's bring him along. We cannot possibly leave this boy alone."
"Damn you smelly! You want to fight it out with me!" Liao Yun crackled her fist, making Fu Tao raised both of his hands up.
"Why don't you ask little Yue, then? You already know that I have no say in this place, right?" Fu Tao wanted to cry as he said this sentence, but there was nothing he could do. He was nothing more than a chicken in front of Liao Yun.
Sensing both of their attention, Mingyue shrugged her shoulders, "Why are both of you making the decision without even asking this boy?" Mingyue turned her head toward the boy along with her cute gesture. "So, what do you want to do? If you want to come along, just say it."
Of course, Mingyue wished for the boy to come along as it was beneficial for her. Not only Xiao Ming was able to grow, but she also made sure the boy was within her reach.
The boy was nervous as he played with his fingers.
"Er. . . I want to. . . Can I be with you?" The boy was fidgeting as he said it. He took a few peek toward Mingyue without any care of Liao Yun or Fu Tao.
"Fine, just come along then." Mingyue had no qualm as it was also the best outcome for her.
"Hey, hey. Don't you think that you are being hasty? Are you sure with taking him in? We are not a day-care, you know?" Liao Yun furrowed her eyebrows. Liao Yun didn't like the fact that no one asked for her opinion. And of course, she didn't think that Fu Tao's opinion was of importance.
Mingyue puffed her cheeks as she pouted at Liao Yun.
"I want a toy. You have one, why I cannot have one?" There was a trace of wronged expression on Mingyue's face, making it harder for Liao Yun to retort.
"Sigh. Little Yue, I am not a toy." Even though Fu Tao said it, he understood that no one would hear him at all.
[Heck! First, it was smelly tofu. And now, why am I called as a toy?]
"Then, it is decided, right?" Mingyue giggled as she understood that no one against her.
[Acting cute is really useful!]
Liao Yun and Fu Tao rolled their eyes.
Mingyue turned her head toward the shy and fidgeting boy, and she asked, "So, what is your name?"
The boy lowered his gaze as he avoided Mingyue's questioning gaze.
He shook his head.
"No name? Shall I call you No Name?"
"Your naming sense is crap. Can't you think of something better?" Liao Yun scoffed at Mingyue, but she was clearly amused.
"What should I give? Little Yi? Little Er? Little San?" Mingyue knitted her eyebrows as she tapped her index finger toward her chin many times. It was her habit when she was thinking.
"Can't you be more original? It feels like naming a random cat or dog."
"Pale boy? Shy boy? Boy? Little boy?"
". . . "
Even Liao Yun grew speechless of the random name that Mingyue suggested.
"Then, Xiao Mi it is. Mingyue blinked her eyes as she stopped thinking.
"Why?"
"Because a cat's voice is like, miaaaw. . . Taking the first part, let's call him Xiao Mi."
The silent Fu Tao opened his mouth at last, "It's a girl's name. Denied."
"Then, you give me a name." Mingyue humphed as she crossed her hands and glared at Fu Tao.
"Then, Song Qi. How is it?" Fu Tao felt satisfied with the name he came up with.
Mingyue wrinkled her nose as she pouted, "Denied!"
Fu Tao was puzzled because he believed that the name he came up with was good. But when he saw what Mingyue did after that, he was floored.
Mingyue turned her sparkling eyes toward the shy boy as she said, "Remember, your name is Song Qi, but you will be called as little Qi. Don't forget that."
The shy boy, Song Qi nodded his head many times like a chick pecking on grains.
Seeing the obedient Song Qi, Mingyue was satisfied, the opposite of Fu Tao.
"Can we eat now? We can, right? I have been starving. Let's go!" Not waiting for an answer, Liao Yun went out of the room and followed by the other three.
As the dining room was on the different floor, the four of them had to go downstairs.
"Ah, You are already awake?" A middle-aged lady was surprised as she saw Mingyue and her company went downstairs.
This lady was the owner of the inn, Gu Wen.
Even though she was still middle-aged, her hair had whitened already. But fortunately, her physique was still good as she was still able to take care of the inn.
Gu Wen was helped by his eldest son and pair of a young daughter. Her son was busy in the kitchen, while the both of her daughters were helping her with various chores.
"Un! I always wake up earlier than these two lazy-heads!" Mingyue giggled as she peeked at Fu Tao and Liao Yun. "What is the food for breakfast? Is it good?"
"Hoho, what a good kid." Gu Wen ruffled the hair on Mingyue's hair as she praised. "We have some meat from Tusked Pig. You can have it steak or stew, both are delicious. But remember to eat veggies as well, okay?"
Mingyue turned around and put her hands on her waist. She stared at Liao Yun and said, "Hear it, little Yun? Eat more veggies and lesser meat!" Mingyue puffed up her non-existent chest.
Liao Yun was not losing as she retorted back, "That is for the little girl. For a grown-up, more meat, the better it is."
"Muuu. . ." Mingyue pouted, but in the end, she just went to the dining room.
"Hahaha, you need a few more years before you can out-talk me." Liao Yun giggled as she saw the defeated Mingyue.
The four of them sat on one table. Of course, Xiao Wu was left in the room.
"Auntie Gu Wen, can I ask you something?" Fu Tao waved his hand toward the inn's counter.
The dining room was still empty as it was still early in the morning. Thus, Gu Wen was free in the morning, making it convenient for Fu Tao to ask a few things.
"Oh, feel free to ask."
"About Lin Family. Is this family well-known around this area?"
"Well-known? It is more like that there is no one who doesn't know about this family. If you stay in this city long enough, you will hear various stories about them."
"Really? What kind of story?" Fu Tao was startled, while the other three were enjoying their breakfast.
"There are good rumours, and there are bad rumours. But in the end, they are all rumours and none of it has any relationship with this place. So, I don't remember much about the rumour." Gu Wen shrugged her shoulders, but there was a trace of hostility as Gu Wen described the Lin Family.
Not realizing Gu Wen's change of tone, Fu Tao kept asking, "Then, tell us about what you know about the Lin Family."
"Arrogant, pansy, silk-pants, crazy nuts, and a bunch of pigs." One by one, Gu Wen's tone became bad and at the end of her sentences, she scoffed.
Fu Tao was speechless because he felt that he was being cursed. His mouth was opened wide as he stared at Gu Wen.
Gu Wen realized that it was kind of inappropriate to say all of these things toward the guest in front of her, so she coughed and explained a little. "You asked me about the Lin Family, right?"
Fu Tao understood that he couldn't get anything about Lin Family from Gu Wen, thus he asked for a different question.
"Then, do you know about the abandoned mine?"
But he didn't know that his question dug another hole for him to jump.
…
"Then, do you know about the abandoned mine?"
Gu Wen's mood was clearly plummeted as she didn't even show her smiling face. It was a rage, full of hatred in her eyes.
It was the exact complete opposite of a few minutes ago.
"Who the f*ck sends you here!" Gu Wen took out a shovel and waved it toward Fu Tao. She didn't hesitate at all and filled with hostility. "Do you not feel satisfied with the mess that you gave for my family!"
"Wa- wait, auntie. Why- don't hit me." Fu Tao flustered as he was smashed around with a shovel. "It's a mis- misunderstanding!"
But unfortunately, Gu Wen didn't care about any excuse and kept waving the shovel.
Even though each swing was not dangerous and there was no strength, it was weak, Fu Tao didn't dare to fight back. He accepted each of the swings.
Liao Yun was amused as she gave an encouragement to Gu Wen. She laughed without any constraint
"Go for it, auntie! Beat the crap out of him!" Liao Yun swung her punch as she swallowed a piece of a boar's meat.
While the dining room was a little messy because of the chasing game, Mingyue and Song Qi were calm as they were eating in peace.
"Eat more meat. You are still in recovery." Mingyue moved a greasy piece from her plate toward Song Qi's plate.
"Un." Song Qi didn't look at Mingyue, but he nodded as his reply.
"Don't just eat meat. Here, some veggies." Mingyue moved all bitter veggies from her plate.
Song Qi didn't reply, but he ate everything that was given to him. All of it was delicious, moreover, it was given by the fairy.
Xiao Jing only snorted as she spectated the scene. "Just say that you don't like them. Don't make such excuse."
"No, it is not an excuse, but a reason. A plausible reason. Look at his scrawny body, what will happen if he is blown by a gust of wind? He won't grow up if he didn't eat enough meat, he also needs more veggies so he won't get sick. I am a reasonable woman."
Xiao Jing was speechless as she received any random excuse from Mingyue.
". . . Up to you."
Both Mingyue and Song Qi were in harmony. As if there was no disturbance at all.
