Bab 74: Chapter 74: Executives
Perseus POV
The voice we heard is Leona Kenley, a commander of the beast folk winter forces. She looks to be in her late 30s, 177 cm tall, has creamy yellow hair and light blue eyes. She is a snow leopard hybrid.
She holds a lot of influence in the beast folk government, much more than Ezio who holds influence mostly in the tower, but that doesn't mean his influence out here is small, it's just small compared to her. Despite the authority and battle prowess she holds, surprised she isn't placed in the top 100, maybe it's because she barely climb the tower.
The other 2 behind her are an orc and female hobgoblin.
The orc name is Etha Brawn, he is 2m tall, looks to be in his early 40s, dark green skin, bald, light brown eyes, heavily tattooed and has 2 giant tusk on his face. He is one of the orc's king direct bodyguards, which means he is one of the candidates to be the next king when the current one retires. All he has to do is prove his strength.
To be a direct body guard, they have to be smart and have a lot of battle achievements, and with the amount of rebels trying to force their way to kingship and civil wars in the orc world, he's probably 3rd or 4th in line right now.
The female hobgoblin is name Sela Yud, 180 cm tall, looks to be in her late 30s, has light green skin, black eyes, dark grey hair and has lean muscles showing. She is the head of agriculture, really not helping the stereotype of goblins and being farmers if you think about it with my world logic.
But she essentially control the food supply chain, the top in the 13 worlds, and she has connections in all of the 13 worlds and can basically sabotage an army's ration or starve any community, poison them too if she works with Rex.
I'm part of the legion's assassin division, we just eliminate people for the organization, we're basically the evil henchmen, the former head, I defeated in assassin competition and earned his position, don't worry, he's mostly alive. We aren't your cliché assassins, we prefer to live if possible.
Ezio is as you, know, the 3rd best raider with influence in the tower, blah blah blah.
"So do I need to kill anyone again?"
"You police commissioner guy gets closer everyday, though he's still far off, maybe him." Rex joked
"We already have a rule of protecting the Lagunas, we need investigators on our ass." Leona responded "If we kill all our investigators, the next ones are going to be better and get closer, we eliminate them and repeat till they shut us, for a super smart guy, you're quick to make dumb decisions, you want us to shut down?"
"I was mostly joking, I'm not that dumb, Leona." Rex chuckled
"Well I'll be the rude one and ask it again, what the hell are you guys hiding from me in the academy? I'm trying to find it out myself and so far, nothing."
"You're an assassin, despite your title make you technically our evil, you know that it's mostly honorary ." Sela replied "We will not stop you from finding out, but we can't give you exact answers and goals either, you are after all just an assassin."
Tch, I hate these guys, why can't ya just make my job easier? I know some stuff about this organization, but fucking hell, I need to know more, currently, even though this organization is like the biggest shadow company across the 13 worlds.
We hold monopolies on many things and I have to hold some stuff out from Brooke and Struan so that they can't report or tell anyone else, like head of the assassin division? They don't know that.
At first, they needed my help to figure out this clan and end it if possible, but once I'm in, I want to end it by myself since legal laws will prevent it from happening, but I need help, so I still am working for them, but I will hide somethings because I want to end it myself.
I have killed corrupt politicians and replaced with their own corrupt one, but I have rules and lines I do not cross when it come to the targets too.
"Though we will have to talk openly about one of the goals Perseus doesn't know yet now." Leona said "The 14 fragments."
Yes!
"What's that?" I asked curiously
"I won't say the whole thing since you will have to find it out yourself, but there is a big jade key that is broken into 14 pieces, we got 3 piece so far, it will unlock this large chest that Ezio hid in a secret location that only he knows," Etha explained "We don't know what's in it, but we sensed a large presence from it, most likely, an artifact strong enough to hurt the Weaver of Calamity."
"Why 14?"
"There's 1 in every world, the tower count as 1 world too, so 14." Rex answered
Flashback...
Back down in the secret room in the academy, apart from one of the tower's biggest secret, as we searched through the room, we found this jagged jade piece that I can't break apart, I don't know what is, but if there's an item in a secret room like that, it's better to keep it.
I handed it to Emma.
"Why give it to me?" she asked
"Keep it, as you know, I keep a lot of secrets, and if they catch up with me, I want this to at least be somewhere away from me since I attract too much attention, you're strong enough to protect it, but irrelevant enough to be unnoticed."
"You infuriate me sometimes." she said as she took it and put it in a spatial ring "Imprint your mana to my ring too, this ring will only contain this item and we'll be co owners so that if one dies, the other will still be able to keep it."
"You bought a couple spatial ring?"
"I almost gifted it to my brother and his wife, but he'll get another gift, it's my size anyway."
