Bab 75: Chapter 75: Dangerous position
Perseus POV
"Why do we want to invest money in this stupid actor?!" I exclaimed as I read the files before me "The only good thing about him is his fake claim of being a member of ours."
"Well, we're going to be more aggressive from now on and advertise ourselves and show ourselves more after this meeting." Sela replied "No matter how ridiculous his claims are, it's going to help us, he's famous."
The 3 piece of jade fragments they said that they got earlier are from the world of elves, giants, and goblins and now Emma has the 4th, apparently they plan on using that treasure to become the most powerful people in the tower.
And their other goals...to become an admin of the tower. So to do that, they will now go more aggressive in their tactics for world domination and to find the identity and kill 'the Weaver of Calamity.'
"Well I would tell you more, but if only you tell us the identity of your teacher in return." Ezio offered
"I'll say it again, I won't tell you who he is nor will I take revenge IF you manage to kill him, you can go ahead and try your best to be honest, but I can guarantee that you won't win even if Ezio and Rex team up."
"Oh?" Rex perked up "That's a hit on my pride."
"I'm only stating the truth."
I mean, there's no way I can achieve revenge for myself if I die, and my statements are true, it will be a hard fight, but it's not impossible, far from it, their chances would increase if they have flawless teamwork, but no matter how much they coordinate , they got their own pride on the line, so they will have to be selfish and try to get the last hit or any good attacks.it will create a flaw.
And one good thing about being a part of the assassin division though, I can keep myself away from the public about the fact that I'm a part of this stupid clan. Ezio and Rex are open about it though they won't say anymore than that.
I was then handed several more files.
"About your oncoming trip to the faeries world, we will use our influence to change it to the world of the nature spirits, we want you to investigate the world tree." Leona said "We already got the others to investigate the divine lake and yada yada, but you will go to the world tree, especially about the jade fragment."
"Why the world of nature spirits specifically?"
"There are many of our members there, the most even, having the presence of an executive there will boost our trust and confidence a bit since if necessary, you can use your authority to boost the chances." Leona reasoned "Albeit, you are not even well known outside your own division, but use it if necessary, we'll give you the personnel list later."
"And it's also because you have a history there." Etha added "Currently, the leader of all the nature spirits is the queen, who is a dryad born directly from the world tree, her daughter owes you a favor, we're more than sure that your class will be treated well during the trip."
"That's because I saved her life, of course she will be grateful."
"Well you can use that favor to investigate the world tree and have more freedom walking around, so sending you there is more than optimal, you have the best chance of finding anything if it's at the world tree." Etha explained "It's a famous tourist spot with a raider prep school nearby, your class will have a mandatory trip there no matter what."
They make good points, but hopefully it won't be too obvious, by saving the queen's child, I was actually given status there, though it is mostly kept private and against my will.
Jade fragments and a weapon that might hurt me, now that I confirmed that the jade piece means something, my sister can go investigate it herself. And my job is to report this and secretly keep them to myself.
"So I will report this to Brooke, but I will keep the piece of the jade key to myself and give it to you guys later."
"Yeah, you should recognize the jade piece with just your sight, it feels...different." Rex chuckled "I experimented with it a bit, it's indestructible. But give every piece you find to us except the first one, give that to Brooke, they will guard it for us before we retrieve it back again."
I was about to suggest that anyway, it's good for me being a double agent, by giving it to the law enforcement, it will mean that we will have at least 2 in out possession, 1 which is secretly with Emma.
And by doing that, I'm showing each side that I'm with them, from the Legion's perspective, giving Brooke a piece will show that I am with them, gaining their trust, looking like I'm trying my best to get the rest but losing out due to not wanting to expose myself further.
But for Brooke's perspective, I'm helping them by assuring that the last piece will not be used when the time comes, and by helping the legion do these jobs, I'm earing their immense trust.
Being a double or triple agent or whatever, I'm in the most dangerous position.
"So do you want me to text him now in front of you? Or later?"
"Now would be better." Etha answered
I then take out a different phone and went to my fake texts with Brooke with reports that are sometimes fake, and fake chats.
I then told him about the jade key and the treasure or whatever under their watchful eye.
"...And sent!"
"Good." Ezio said "Now let's continue this meeting talking about our other matters that will increase our resources."

I left the meeting in secret and went home to report everything to my sister. The legion allows me to tell my sister everything because they know they can't stop me from doing that, so does the law enforcement, she is my true partner in crime.
"S a key that can hurt you...the claim isn't impossible, Ezio is the type to exaggerate some things, but not about these serious topics." she commented "Now that Zach and Decker are back, it means I can start going out without too much worry."
