Chapitre 138: The New Year
After my conversation with Lan Xiao Su, I found a vacant seat in the room and sat down as I waited for Mei Gui to finish her quest. A lot of the Hunters who were lined up behind me saw how happy Lan Xiao Su was after talking to me, and glared at me in hatred. I ignored them though, and pulled out my phone. I opened up the 'Messages' app and sent Mei Gui a text.
[Mei Gui, are you finished yet?]
I then pocketed my phone...not. The message I had sent appeared as 'read' instantly, and Mei Gui was already typing back.
[Yes, Master. I am on my way back to the guild. It should take approximately 5 minutes.]
[Got it, I'm just sitting on a chair right now. Hard to miss me.]
[Understood, Master.]

This chapter mainly covered a 'date' between Mei Gui and Xuan Kai...but before you say anything, no, this was not a filler chapter. You'll understand why if you read the next one, which I will release tomorrow.
This build-up of events will eventually lead to the climax of this arc: The Fall of Shenzhen. So after countless character developing and peaceful chapters, the action finally arrives. I'm still planning out the details, but knowing me, I'm going to throw those plans right out the trash once I actually start writing that part. I'm just that kind of person.
So then...why do I still make plans in the first place then, you ask?
Well, honestly? I don't really understand myself. Like by 'plan', I don't really mean firing up a Word document and brainstorming using point notes and stuff. What I mean is I'm just thinking. Thinking about what I'm going to write for future plot, while I'm off doing something else. I tend to brainstorm a lot in bed, before I sleep. Funny how my brain is the most active right before it shuts down for sleep.
Yes, I know, my fellow nerds out there. The brain does not actually shut down when you're sleeping. Dreams exist. I was just trying to make a really bad joke, man...at least allow me to do this, yeah?
