--Lydia POV--
Looking around me I could see the people I usually speak with, being wound, hurt and I don't have an idea on how to change this.
I was just able to help Laura and Malia once, but now I don't know what to do.
In front of me was Kali that except for some superficial wounds looked just fine.
It didn't take long for her to charge at us again, so I tried to hit her another time with my scream, but Kali jumped against a pillar and used it as a platform to leap another time.
The pillar she used was damaged a lot by the impact of my scream, but she was already too high in the air to be hit by then.
When she landed, she was just a few meters from me, but before she could do something Malia crashed against her, and the two started rolling on the floor.
After that it became a direct fight of claws, blood kept getting spilled and the floor turned red.
And I stood there watching, unable to do anything, since they were too close to one another for me to intervene or I would risk hitting both of them.
After one minutes the fight had ended and Malia had lost, Kali too was full of wounds, but she could still move differently from Malia, who was still alive only because Kali didn't hit a vital point, most likely intentionally.
"Malia!" I yelled.
Kali soon took Malia in her arm and forced her to stand, she put a claw near her neck and gazed at the lion, who was now looking at Malia too.
--3rd person POV--
The fight between Deucalion and Thomas was savage and epic and all others made sure to stay away from the two monster who were trying to rip one another.
That's why the moment the fight stopped everyone noticed it and they all stopped their battles to see what happened.
"I must say that I enjoyed our fight, a pity it must end here" said Deucalion with a dark voice that went well with his monstrous appearance.
Thomas had suddenly stopped fighting, because he felt that one of his mates was in a critical condition, it was like an alarm had suddenly switched on in his head and his bloodlust for Deucalion had suddenly turned off.
He looked at Malia, who was being held by Kali, with a claw near her neck, he tried to move toward her, but before he could Deucalion was on him.
"I'll stop you right there, we don't want something bad to happen to your girl right?" said Deucalion as Kali's nail grazed Malia's neck.
"So why don't you turn back into a human so that we can speak" the lion knew that they would lose the moment he did so, only in his animal form he could match Deucalion, but when he saw Kali's pushing her finger a little deeper he relented and turned back.
"Now we can finally have our talk" said Deucalion as he too went back to his human form. The problem is that while it would take just a moment for Deucalion to go back to his previous state, Thomas can only do so by concentrating for a minute.
His only advantage is that Deucalion probably doesn't know about this weakness, and just wanted Thomas to turn in a human so that they could speak.
"I'm really curious if you care more for your own pride or for Derek's pack. Well, I'll eventually find out, for now I think we should just end this here, and I'll take her with me obviously. Next time, if you still try to meddle in my business again, then she'll pay for your error" he said while putting back on his sunglasses and maintaining his smile.
"Don't you dare" Roared Thomas.
"Oh, I dare"
"Deucalion you have fallen too low from what you once were" Uttered Laura as she weakly got up from the ground.
"No, I think that in fact I just got better" He replied.
"If you still have some respect for our customs, than let her go. She needs to be cured or she'll die. Moreover, she got a father who would call the police and attract ulterior attention on us. The hunters will come too then" said Laura, but Deucalion showed no interest for her words.
"Not something I can't deal with; I hope you didn't expect me to give up my advantage just for this reason".
"No, I already realized your current character. Just let her go, and take me instead, you should know that I too am part of his pride and I'm too weak right now to resist".
"Laura… let them take me" murmured Malia, with a weak voice.
"You really resemble your mother; you are just as virtuous and responsible as she was, she was like a guide to us all. I still respect her, even in her death, and as proof of that I'll accept your proposal. Virtuous people like you should be rewarded after all" Said Deucalion.
At his words Ennis got behind Laura and grabbed her arms, while Kali released Malia, who was about to fall, but Thomas grabbed her just before she touched the ground.
"If you even touch one of her hair, I'll make you regret having lost only your sight, and not all the other senses, for how much pain and desperation I'll make you feel through them" hearing Thomas words, Deucalion just stopped for one second and smiled.
"I always treat my guests well, so I expect you to behave too" He replied, before leaving with his pack and Laura and no one stopped him.
The moment he left Thomas raised his head and let out a powerful roar that conveyed at everyone his anger.
--MC POV--
We were now in Deaton clinic, who was medicating Malia.
It was me, Lydia and Allison, who had reached us too, after finding out what happened.
Luckily Malia was already patched up to stop the blood loss, and she had already healed a little, although not as fast as a shapeshifter would usually heal, since the wounds were made by an alpha.
"Sorry… I was the one who got caught…but Laura took my place" murmured Malia, who had just woken up.
Her word destroyed the silence that was formed in the room, and all of us rushed toward her.
"It was my fault… I couldn't do anything to help you" said Lydia crying.
"I should have been there" uttered Allison.
"All of you, stop trying to take the fault, that's not what Laura would have wanted for us to do. Now we need to concentrate on how to get her back".
"What are you going to do? Will you stop helping Derek?" Asked Deaton from where he stood.
"Till they have Laura I will, but I won't stand here and do nothing, we'll have to think about how we can save her. My connection with her got cut earlier, they must have put her in an isolated place, made with a material that obstruct my senses." I spoke.
"If we are caught, they won't hesitate to kill her" stated Lydia as tears kept falling from her eyes.
"We'll need to find the perfect moment and a distraction, this time we'll have to plan it perfectly we can't allow ourselves to mess up" I said as I can't not do anything, it is the first time I can't feel anymore the presence of one of my pride members after marking them and it leave an emptiness and sense of fear difficult to stand.
"I'll help too, this time I won't let my parents stop me" said Allison.
I can't blame her for not coming, her family has been constantly monitoring her making sure she wasn't getting involved, they would have never let her come.
Blaming someone or yourself is just a way to surrender to the situation, it was Laura who taught me how useless it was last time, now all I need to do is to make sure to get her back.
(I know many of you will be angry that this happened, but i think you'll like in the future the conseguences that follow this)
