Yvette narrowed her eyes and stopped walking. "What secret?"
Hoffman limped up and said straightforwardly, "If you give me money, I will tell you."
"Forget it. I'm not interested."
Yvette turned around and was about to get into the car.
Hoffman panicked and shouted, "It's about how you got to my family. Don't you want to know?"
Yvette paused.
She was told that she was lost when she was 6 years old. Her mother cried sadly every day and couldn't eat or sleep.
Then, one day, her mother disappeared after leaving a note to her father. Her mother wanted to find her.
For so many years, even if there was no news, her father never gave up searching.
Yvette had always thought that she had lost her way back then and was picked up by Phoebe.
But judging from Hoffman's tone, Yvette began to doubt it.
