Chapitre 3: Mistress Daughter
The peace and quiet Remi have is destroyed when Arianna entered the hospital ward alone holding her Dior purse and inspecting her manicured fingernails, she sat across Remi uninvited as if she owns the place.
"I heard you tried to kill yourself?" she mocked Remi and keeps laughing every time she talks.
"You know, i felt bad for you i really do. If i am a mistress daughter growing up in a society full of people who preserves their family line, i would want to kill myself too. Did the meeting with young master Hale does not work? Do they find out that your status as my father illegitimate child?" Arianna mocked Remi that raised her eyebrow absorbing the information she just heard.
Remi smiled and sat down facing Arianna that still trying to mock her with insults after insults. She then once again has to put pieces of these information together to understand fully the situations.
Hale family does sounds familiar, there are few top tier Family in the country that comes from old money. They are beyond rich. Remi always pay attention to the rich and their life, it made her job easier knowing all her targets and their resources. Their group never touch the old money family. Their resources to investigate matters are widely connected and they prefer to rob the new money, they are flashier and a little brainless with a limited resource.
Unfortunately, now that she knows this family, Henson is one of the new monies. A wealth that declined overtime due to the company is managed by the son. Which is Arianna's twin brother Luke. She has made researched on this family recently since they are on the guest list of the party. What a waste, half of their jewelries are fake goods.
That also has made her suspicious that Clarissa's and she are identical twins. Conrad Henson had a twin brother that died when they were young. Making him able to pass the twin genetics to his kids, however the awful men is lucky to get twins in every set of children he created.
Mistress is such a strong word that is used to label her mother. Her memory of her is full of loving woman and an amazing mother. How can a woman like that become a home a wrecker. She swore to get to a bottom of this. For now, her mind is set to seek revenge on this wretched family and lift Clarissa's name in her memory. Remi wants her twin to be seen as an outstanding woman and not a mistress daughter among the society.
The game might be old, but the player is new.
Remi silent irritate Arianna to an extent she felt to hurt her. A spoiled brat like Arianna who is not used to be humiliated and ignored cannot accept being treated like air. She got up and walked to Remi that still remain silent taunting her secretly knowing full well the spoiled brat in front of her will retaliate using her anger and not her brain that is a size of a peas, if she even has one.
A slapped so loud echoed in the room while a nurse came in and witnessing the violence. Arianna has just realized someone has walked in on her slapping "Clarissa" that held her cheek in tears looking puzzled and wronged.
The nurse was upset witnessing this horror treatment her patient is receiving, she held Remi's shoulder while trying to console the teary Remi from being treated harshly.
"Is not what it seems!!" Arianna justifies her actions.
"Young Miss, i saw you slapped her with my own eyes, any family dispute that happen, a hospital is not a place to show violence" shaking her head.
Conrad and Felicia Henson came in the ward when the nurse was lecturing Arianna from her ugly behaviors. Felicia is a smart cunning woman that manage to control her temperament when she saw the nurse correcting her beloved daughter. She smiled to make peace and be in between the nurse and Arianna, keeping her in check to not escalate the situations.
"Let me deal with this". She whispered to the distraught Arianna from being called on her abusive attitude.
"Nurse, thank you for looking out for my stepdaughter Clarissa, she is lucky, everyone in the hospital is kind to her. Arianna here is probably upset with Clarissa, especially her suicidal attempt after being rejected by the Hale family. All Arianna wants is to teach Clarissa do not make a foolish attempt like her mother. I am sorry i have to mention our family issues, as a Madam Of the Henson family, and one day passing it to my daughter Arianna, i would want everyone to be in check. "
The coaxing poisonous words that came out of Felicia's sounds harmless yet implying Clarissa as a daughter of a mistress that wanted to climb on a social ladder. The nurse gradually letting go her arms on Remi's shoulder and nodded as a sign accepting Felicia's words.
Remi is impressed at how quick witted the "stepmother" in front of her. She has to applaud Felicia for the comeback.
"Now Clarissa, can you please forgive your sister? she is just wanted took out for you. The doctor has mention us your conditions, they still have to take suicidal into considerations, but we understand that you also suffered greatly with some memory suppressant, it must be traumatic for you. Arianna has not been informed fully of your health yet. Now let us pack up and come home, mom will ask Mona to make special soup to nourish your body, we do not want to bother Young Master Knight, he has been paying for the expenses since the party at the yacht was for his family charity".
Hearing the word mom, Remi feel like to gag, but she wiped her tears and ignore the useless nurse. She then smiled as an obedient child and a new profound worry has enter her mind.
THE KNIGHT!!!
The one and only family she swore to never steal from. Baldie and the rest are now hopefully back in their country. Their protocol is to not come back for other team members, they can't jeopardize the orphanage. Her career in Anders as a gemstones and precious jewel expert has making it easy for her to travel the world undetected when dealing with her stolen goods. She has to soften her voice as much as possible to mimic the Arlington accent. She lived her entire life in Anders and this life might not be worth it now that she has cross the Knight of Arlington.
