I took a few seconds to take in his presence, assuring myself that I wasn't standing somewhere else with a bunch of women in black dresses. I nodded at him, but he only frowned further.
"What happened?" He asked. "You look dazed."
"I—" I glanced at the mirror and said, "I'm not sure."
Elliot, who came in late, opened the diary I left on the table, admiring it like a relic. I asked him if he had any idea what happened to the black witch, and his answer surprised me. It was obvious. "She was hunted."
"By who?"
"Humans."
She was scared of humans, just like humans were scared of her. I then recalled what I saw in the mirror—how happy they looked. Then I recalled all the bad things I'd seen and all the lives they'd taken. The fire within me remained, but it was dimly extinguished by my confusion and the question of good and bad.
Hello!~ At this point, I might as well be taking a hiatus from writing xD.
Fortunately, now that I'm done with my hectic university schedule, I'll be able to spend a lot more time writing over the summer! While it's been a long time since I've written here, I'll do my best to finish this story and (hopefully) compensate for the time you've spent waiting for me!
Thank you so much for still being here (it means a lot to me!) and thank you for liking this story! I hope you have a nice day!
