Chapitre 5: Blood
Tolo enters the twin's room, with two pairs of black coats, gloves and socks saying "Where this and come with me".
"Eh", the twins say in confusion.
The twins wore the clothes and followed Tolo, they went to the back of the castle already drenched in sweat from the heat of the coats.
Tolo, who was staring deep into an open portal. "Your finally here", he says.
"What's up Tolo, new mission?', Kinea questions.
"Yeah, we've got a report of a demon. Supposedly a very strong one at that", he replies.
"Okay, but is there really a need to wear this?! It's like fifty degrees out here", Kean asks while pointing to his coat.
"Stop complaining, you'll understand in a second", Tolo says before going through the portal.
The twins look at each other and back at the portal and reluctantly go through, they are met with extreme blizzards and snow. They're breath was easily visible in the air and they're gloves felt ice cold. Even the moon was blocked off by the clouds which were hailing.
They were on top of a hill with dense wood all over and an open path covered with snow that stretched for miles.
Tolo raises his hand and an energy orb forms in his hand that serves as a light source and begins walking through the heavy blizzard.
"Tolo… I'm gonna die of cold. Why are the weather conditions so bad", Kinea says.
"His right, the weather around here is unnaturally cold", Kean remarks.
"We have a rescue mission for a group of people that were attacked by a demon, There seems to be a lot of controversy around this area", Tolo says.
"Oh so you believe it's the demon?", Kean questioned.
"I'm not sure, yet", he answers.
A light hush startled the two. They looked at where the sound came from, Kinea?
"Yo, what's up", Kean asks in a low voice.
Kineas face was extremely serious, seeming almost enraged very unlike his quirky behaviour"
"Can't you guys sense it? The hate, malice, no…the bloodlust.", Kinea replies.
A loud silence resonates, the heavy blizzard had stopped and the three boys were examining the wood beside them. They felt it too, the danger, the anger, malice. The defining features of a demon.
"Can you smell it? Something more rotten than a dead body", Kean says while covering his nose.
A smell all so familiar to them. As they all say uniformly, "Death".
After walking about for some time, they found a cabin in a large clearing. The cabin was buried under a mountain of snow with very small of the actual cabin visible.
"This is the place, we have to save the survivors", Tolo says.
They dug up the snow and found the door, they tried opening it but it was sealed shut so Tolo kicked it open.
They walked into the house, the living room looked like a murder mystery. They were two men on the floor dead with one disfigured with bite marks, broken bones and bruises. The other's head looked like it was snapped, his eye was gauged out but the most terrifying feature were his bones.
They were broken in many different places from his head to toes, with some even coming out of his skin. Worst of all he had an airy smell the same as in the woods, the smell of death.
There was a third man resting on the wall barely breathing, his eyes were damp and tired. He looked old, very old. His arm was missing, tied with a white sleeve which was covered in blood, his head was stained with blood and his clothes were torn with claw marks visible all over his body.
Tolo rushed to him getting on his knees and holding his other hand before saying "Sir, are you alright?!".
At first, there was no response but then the man mustering what little energy he had, pointed at the door at the end of the living room. It was barricaded but it looked like someone was trying to open it, some of the wood was broken and some of the nails were unscrewed.
The twins remove the wood and opened the door, the smell alone smelt shivers down their spine. Behind the door was something straight out of a horror movie, a bed that was covered in blood and partially broken but it was the body beside it that was the real eye sore.
An open ribcage and a face that looked like it was eaten off with one eye in the left socket and the other missing, her legs and bones were scattered everywhere with the little amount of flesh left having bite marks on it.
"The fuck", Kean whispered.
"What happened here?", Kean questions.
"Looks like someone ate her", Kean answers in a disgusted voice.
Tolo's eyes glow and he healed the man but only to a small extent, "Now please can you tell us what happened here", Tolo asks.
The man nods and begins "My name is Frank Botman and I came here with my girlfriend and a few of my friends".
"Aren't you a bit young for girlfriends?", Kinea asks.
"What do you mean, I'm merely twenty-three years old", he answers.
"Are you serious?!", Kean exclaims.
"How is that even possible?", he questions.
"Something is definitely wrong here, please continue your story", Tolo says.
"I, my girlfriend her name was Melissa. Her brother and his girlfriend, Max and Fiona with their friend Alex who came with no guests. We were having a party in hear blasting music and having a few drinks, overall it was turning out to be a great night for us all".
"We were all celebrating Christmas and having a great time until Alex went out to pee, I believed in his partially drunken state he was looking for the easiest way. He was gone for about a good ten seconds before rushing back in as pale as a ghost".
"He told us all to turn off the music and quietly follow him outside, we followed his commands reluctantly and went with him. We went behind a tree and he pointed towards the top of a cliff, on it I saw something that made me almost pee myself".
"On it, I could only make out the silhouette of a tall humanoid creature with antlers at its head", He says.
"What was it that it had done", Kinea asks.
"Please be patient. You will know and I tell you all the horrifying things it did to us", he answers.
