Chapitre 12: HE'S IN LOVE WITH ME?
They had their afternoon nap and asked to go outside the Village. They were told that they will explore the lush green forest outside the Village.
"Students there are a limit where you can only go. Mr. Stronghold's people put a rope in some trees that means walking outside there is called trespassing and I will deduct points if ever you get caught. Now look for your group mates". Mr. Medina made himself very clear for the safety of his students.
"Hey Selena!".
Selena turned around and saw Clint and Kevin approaching her. She almost forgot she belongs to this dirt bags group. But she thought about Mark and the apology they did. She decided to give them another chance.
"Hey, yo!". She answered them back.
"Hey let's work hard and get that A+!". Kevin is quite driven. He knows Selena is very smart but they also need to work hard they cannot depend on her IQ or their Alpha will whip their asses.
"Yes let's do that!". Selena agreed. 'At least she have a well driven group not a dependent one'. Her thoughts is saying. She was a bit proud of them.
The student need to find the things in their list. Then identify and classified them. If they could find something new species of anything, there will be a bonus in the end.
"Hey guys we need to scatter to cover a lot of grounds". Selena suggested to her team.
Kevin and Clint looked at each other. They have a specific order not let their eyes off Selena.
"Hey guys are you listening to me?". Her brows knitted.
"Ahm.... Can we just?". Kevin don't know how to explain his self. They also have a specific order to not anger her and she seems getting angry.
"Okay. Just go there and we will cover here". Clint said.
Kevin rushed to him. "What are you doing, what if we lost her?...Alpha Luke will going to kill us".
Clint think for a while. "Hey Selena!".
"What?".
"Promise us you won't go beyond the rope".
"What, do I look stupid".
"Just give us your word".
The two boys waited for her to answer.
"Okay I promise I won't go beyond the rope.... Happy?". Selena just gave them her word besides she have no plan of getting into trouble anyway.
The boys smiled at each other and continued their search. Hours later Selena look for the members of her team to see their progress.
"Hey Quin have you seen Kevin and Clint?". She asked her politely.
"They went beyond the rope".
"What!". She can't believed what she just heard. "Those stupid fools are they trying to get me into trouble?". She can't believed what she just heard. Clint made her promise not to cross the rope and now they are out there.
"Well they live here, they probably know every part of this place". Quin said in her serious face. She didn't see any doubts in Selena's face when she told her a lie. The truth is she never saw the two guys anywhere.
"Damn?". Selena believed every word Quin said.
She is now contemplating if she will go beyond the rope to look for the two idiots. She's worried that Mr. Medina will deduct points to their group if he found out that his team mates violated some rules. But she have no choice, she's very worried about them. At the end she decided to go hoping they are still near.
It's like hours already and Selena is still walking around the woods. She can't seem to find the two. She tried to call for Kevin and Clint hoping they could hear her but no one answered. Only the birds, the leaves and the swaying branches of trees create noises.
"Where did you go?". She's getting worried not only for herself but for the two guys as well.
Back at the Village.
The given time ends up and all the students are called back.
Luke noticed Selena's scent hasn't grace his senses. "Kevin where is Selena?". He asked him as soon as he walked near him.
"I think she's with Clint". He answered confidently. He thought the two are together.
Luke's forehead wrinkled. He felt odd. Then he saw Clint coming from outside.
"Clint where's Selena?". Luke asked him but he is starting to get worried.
"Isn't she with Kevin?". Clint became worried. He can see his Alpha is starting to get pissed. It means she's not with him too.
"I saw her go beyond the rope". Quin said with worries in her tone. Then a faint smile show in a second.
Luke saw the sudden change in Quins expression. He knows this woman did something she will regret soon. "Go back inside we will look for Selena".
All the students were sent back to the guest house to rest. Quin started to spread rumors like Selena is trying to cheat and go beyond the rope just for the A+ grade that Mr. Medina promised. Ordinary humans will believed her but not Luke's pack.
"Did you find her?". Luke call for his Beta.
"I already send some pack outside but they didn't see her yet". Worries also consumed Drew's tone. Their future Luna is out there and she is in great danger. "Can't we just shift, it will be more faster". He added a suggestion.
"We can't. She doesn't know what we really are". Luke knows it's a great risk but he'd rather take the risk to be hurt than the risk of losing her because she got frightened.
Inside the woods.
Selena is running away from huge animals who were chasing her. She knows what exactly they are. Wolves. But they are twice larger than the average wolf she knows.
She already removed her big sweater and just wearing a white sleeveless top that didn't even end up to her navel. Her bonnet fell down somewhere and her long black hair is free bouncing everywhere. Her skirt was torn apart up to her thigh. If she wants to survive this chase she needs a lighter clothes. Good thing that she's always wearing her running shoes everyday. She's been running for a while and she knows she's already deep in the woods. She also noticed that the sky is turning dark.
"This is not good, when nightfall comes it will be more dangerous for me". She thought. "Luke help me!". She whispered his name to the air.

Luke stopped and looked up. He felt something. The wind seems to carry Selena's scent to him with a whispered sound of help. He knows where she is.
"What's wrong?". Drew and his pack are running inside the woods with him. They can't shift Luke don't want to frightened his Mate.
"I think I know where my Mate is". Luke run to the other side of the woods that they supposed to head. He can't be wrong he heard her asked for help.
Luke's packed headed to the northern part of the woods. It was a forbidden land for Shadow Claw Pack. That place belongs to the Rogues Wolves.

Selena climb the highest tree she can find. She is breathing heavily. Her energy is almost gone and she is very exhausted.
"Luke". She whispered.
She don't understand why she keeps on calling his name as if he is the only one who can save her.
The wolves down the tree are growling hard they tried to shake the trunk. Good thing its an old tree with a big trunk. Then suddenly new wolves came.
"Oh my God.... Luke please come and help me!!!!". She screamed his name.
Suddenly the wolves who came attacked the other wolves who was chasing her before. She was stunned. "What the hell!".
"Selena come down quick".
"Luke!". She can't believed the man she keeps on calling will actually come for her.
"Jump I will catch you". Luke spread his arms.
Selena readying herself to jump in Luke's embrace was startled when another wolf jump on him.
"Luke!!!!!!!". She screamed in horror. Seeing him attacked by the beast.
Luke rolled over to the ground. He felt there's a broken rib on his right side. His human form is really fragile, he thought. But this won't stop him from saving his Mate.
Another wolf tried to attack him but was stopped by a larger one. Luke gathered his strength and stands up. He won't shift whatever happens. He won't scare her Mate. He stands up and tried to walk to where Selena is but to his surprise two large wolves are coming on his way. Their claws are aiming at him. They are ready to shred him to pieces.
"Selena... My love... I'm sorry". That's the last word he could utter then closed his eyes.
"No I'm not!".
Luke opened his eyes and saw her beloved Mate in front of him. She is spreading her arms wide and he noticed the wolves who tried to attack him are not moving, they freeze. He also noticed, except for the two of them nothing or no one is moving as if time stood still and everything stayed still.
Selena's POV.
Selena saw Luke rolled on the ground and he seems hurt. She can't utter any word and starts to cry. She saw how Luke tried to stand while holding his side. She assumed that he has a broken rib because of the attacked but he is still trying to get up and tried to walked towards her direction.
"Luke, why?". She whispered.
She saw him again. Walking towards her a couple of steps more he will be near but two wolves are running towards him. Ready to shred him to pieces. 'Save him'. Someone shouted inside her head.
She jumped from the tree and spread her arms wide. Everything freezes except the things inside her five meter radius. And then she heard him call her name. Call her his love and said sorry for not saving her.
'He's inlove with me?'. Those are her last thoughts then everything went black.
