"What happened to you??" 

"Why didn't you answer my messages?" 

"I was expecting you to back me up while we were being chased." 

Granny sighed audibly. She took her heated gaze off Iris who was enjoying the steak that Mariano prepared for her. That simple thought of Mariano preparing a meal for another girl was already driving her insane and Mariano had the audacity to bombard her with questions as if she did not do anything with the craziness that had happened last night. 

"I was attacked within the moment that you had left," she snapped at him, not hiding her irritation. 

Mariano knitted his brows, reading the expression on Granny's face. 

"If you were attacked the moment that we had left the house, how come I didn't get any distress signal from you?" 

"I could have turned around and helped you."
