Chapitre 108: Don't ruin the mood

"My lady, it's not safe to roam outside your room alone," Arthur advised as Dahlia prepared to leave.

"Yes, I'll keep that in mind," she replied, trying to sound calm. "You should enjoy your meal," she added before hurrying to her room. Once inside, she shut the door firmly behind her, her hand immediately pressing to her chest as her heart raced.

"Did he get suspicious of me? Sullivan will kill me if he finds out I spoke to a stranger," Dahlia murmured, pacing nervously. "But if I don't tell him, he'll never know," she reasoned, a small smile creeping onto her lips. Just as she began to relax, a sudden knock echoed through the room, her heart leaping in her chest.

"Open the door," came Sullivan's commanding voice from the other side.

Dahlia exhaled sharply, relief washing over her. She quickly opened the door and let him in, closing it behind him.
