Chapitre 69: Chapter 69: Saving the Settlement

Pale blue skinned humanoid creatures began to rush out of the woodline, not far behind the initial batch. Seeing the large number of Wights suddenly appearing, any courage or hope to make it thru this attack vanished completely.

When the initial ten or so had appeared, although some of the defenders had been overwhelmed with fear, not all allowed that fear to control them. They stood their ground thinking that no matter what they still outnumbered the creatures of legend, so they felt they stood a chance.

Unfortunately for these defenders, just behind these first ten was an army numbering a little over one hundred and fifty wights and a single White Walker that was commanding them. The surrounding forest was just too dense for them to see very far into the forest itself.

Upon seeing the large army some of the men and women who had came to the defense of the village ran back towards the village to get those within to escape. They knew there was no surviving this attack.

Many of the older warriors, though filled with fear, stood their ground, the images of their families behind them gave them the courage to stand and fight. They knew deep down that they needed to buy time for their loved ones to hopefully escape.

Several icy arrows were soon fired at the group of defenders, those that had shields tried their best to block the arrows, however these arrows weren't typical arrows. When these arrows hit, the shields shattered, even if they were made of metal, these arrows were made from magic.

The arrows punctured the poeple after they destroyed the shield, this caused moral to be lowered even more, these defenders could only see death as the temperature around them dropped further.

Their blood seemed as if it would freeze, as the initial wights reached the defenders, it was as if their reaction time and strength had been decreased greatly. The defenders stabbed and hacked, but the undead felt no pain, so they tore into some of the defenders who had their weapons stuck inside the bodies of the wights.

Just as the defensive line was about to fall apart, several green beams of energy came from the sky, puncturing a large group of the wights all at once. As soon as the green energy punctured the wight their momentum froze, their bodies began to shake in place, as if convulsing.

Seeing this scene not only did the Free Folk freeze, so too did the wights in the back, unsure of what was happening. Suddenly the wights who were hit by the green beam of energy began to shatter one by one, a ball formed on the green beam where the body of the wight once was.

Once all the wights were no more they all watched with rapt attention as the green beams pulled back up into the air. All who saw this followed the green tendrils of light with their eyes. What they saw next was a sight even more scary than the wights.

A man in a black and white armor with chains that seemed to move around his body, as if alive, flew down from the sky, landing in the space between the Free Folk and the army of the wight. As he landed, his large red cloak billowed in the frigid wind, the green tendrils pulled back into his eyes.

"Fuck yeah, that is delicious." Spawn said excitedly as he scanned the army of undead before him.

He could feel large portions of energy being recovered from each orb that was once a Wight. His suit fed off the dark energy that gave these creatures life, the darker the energy, the more substantial the energy he gained.

As Spawn scanned the army four figures landed behind him, confusing the Free Folk even further, they were terrified by the series of events. Especially after seeing Spawn, his suit was otherworldly to say the least, it had a scary and intimidating look to those who first saw it, making him look more demonic than man.

When they saw the other four land, they seemed more normal, though Aidens suit did look strange and very different than anything they had seen before, he didn't wear a mask that hid his face, so he looked human.

Angela's beauty caused many of the Free Folk to go from fear to lustful, even those that already had wives or lovers wanted to steal her away. When they saw her clinging to Aiden, their hearts bled from jealousy, many even having thoughts to takehis life so that they could take possession of such an angelic woman.

Val and Ygritte too brought some attention, though their beauty wasn't as otherworldly as Angela's, they had the true look of Free Folk women. Many questions had arose in the Free Folks minds as to who these five strangers were that had appeared from the sky.

"You sure you got this?" Aiden asked as he turned his head to look behind him.

"Definitely, this is like being at one of those all you can eat buffets back home. I can feel one amongst them that will really be delicious." Spawn replied as he was looking for the one he felt had the most energy.

"Alright then, just be quick about it, we need to get as many as possible, there are some large groups moving around heading towards large settlements of people. I think the Night King is getting desperate to boost his numbers as much as he can before he fully awakens. We will handle the people while you feed." Aiden smirked, then turned his attention to the defenders.

Already Val and Ygritte were talking with the people, informing them of who they were and their purpose for coming. Many were skeptical, but learning that there was a safe place to go, free from attacks from the undead, they felt hopeful once again.

Aiden approached the defenders, seeing many of them injured, began healing them of their wounds, while the three women began to make their way into the village with those who weren't hurt.

As they walked into the village, Spawn's eyes once again shot out hundreds of the green beams that snaked thru the air as if they were alive. These tendrils attacked the undead, puncturing thru the undead in front and hitting many of the ones behind them as well, continuing on thru into the forest.

The White Walker who was riding a undead horse tried to retreat upon seeing what was happening to his army of undead. He was connected to them all since he was the one to raise these undead, feeling the magic that was within them being devoured caused him to actually feel fear.

It was as if the creature in front of his army was their nemesis, a creature of darkness that fed off other creatures of the same alignment. This thinking was in fact dead on accurate, but unfortunately for the White Walker, Spawn could feel their existances, so even if they could escape he could easily find them.

The White Walker turned his horse and began to lead those at the rear away, but turning their backs was the worste decision that it could make. Had the White Walker faced the tendrils head on, he may have been able to dodge the attack, it had thought it was safe at the rear.

The green beam of energy kept puncturing thru one after another, once the wights were punctured, they were frozen in place, unable to move at all. The beams just continued on like a snake, weaving thru the army of the undead.

Spawn was overjoyed by the amount of energy he felt being collected by the attack, thanks to those initial undead, he had energy to spare to create a massive attack that would give him an even bigger return.

The White Walker turned to leave, however just as he turned two chains blocked his way, the boney claws snapping open at the end of the chain, as they floated in place. The White Walker quickly formed an ice sword from it's hand and swung at the attacking chains.

The chains collided with the sword causing a distinctive ring to reverberate thru the air, which caught the White Walker off guard. Usually any metal object that wasn't made of Valyrian steel would shatter upon touching the magical sword, but these chains were fine, in fact the ice sword showed small cracks in the blade.

The White Walker pushed off and lept from his horse as the chains came in for another attack, his undead horse was hit instead, causing the horse to let out a otherworldly cry of pain as the chain passed thru it and began to wrap around the horse.

Within a breaths time, the undead horse was yanked back towards Spawn, while the other chain began to attack the White Walker once again. Seeing this the White Walkers eyes began to glow, the ice sword doubled in length and width as it poured more magic to strengthen the blade.

Spawn had devoured three quarters of the undead army with his last attack, and laughed manically feeling the energy of the suit not only increase, it also condensed, strengthening the suits carapace.

The necroplasm that powered his suit, cape, and abilities was highly compatable with the dark energy that animated the corpses, his suit wasn't about to let the being with a higher density of that energy escape so easily. So it had launched the chains itself to slow down the White Walker.

As the chain brought him the undead horse, Spawn focused on the chain that wrapped around the horse and thought of using it to sap the energy from the horse. Suddenly a green flame engulfed the chain, starting from where it was connected near the shoulder, and shot down the length of the chain towards the horse.

Once the flame reached the horse, it let out a mournful cry as it slowly melted away, causing a dark icy blue energy to begin flowing back toward his suit.

"Damn, I am really loving this world." Spawn said with excitement.

With that Spawn flew towards the location where the White Walker and the last of his army was fighting, his hands began to form long claws as he dropped down onto the rest of the wights who were trying to assist their general in breaking the chain that was attacking them.

As he sliced thru the wights his cape engulfed several more, absorbing them directly into it. Once inside the cape it crushed them and absorbed the necromancer energies itself, it too was wanting a share of the energy found within these creatures.

This had surprised Spawn greatly, he was unaware that not only was his suit an entity but the cape was also one as well. It too fed off his necroplasm just like the suit, also the cape had its own set of powers. Spawn could truly be said to be the perfect weopon against any dark creatures.

Feeling his small army getting completely demolished, the White Walker stabbed the ice sword into the ground causing several ice spikes to launch out of the ground, using Spawns distracted attention to launch a surprise attack on him.

Spawn felt several large spikes impale him thru several vital spots , he let out a pained cry as green glowing blood flowed out onto the large ice spikes.

Seeing his attack land, the White Walker let out a grin, he knew once he converted this powerful being into an undead, he would have a nice underling at his command.

Spawn, angered by his inattentive actions, used his claws to break the spikes. Grabbing out each spike one by one, he dropped them to the ground. His eyes began to glow brighter due to his anger.

The White Walker's grin slowly vanished as he witnessed the large wounds begin to close rapidly. It couldn't understand how he was still alive after it had punctured his heart and lungs, it saw the blood and noticed that it was corroding the ice.

The green blood began to glow brighter, as if it was absorbing the magic within the ice it had created. Seeing this the White Walker's eyes widened as it then witnessed the blood move back towards Spawn, it moved up his body into his hands forming two strange looking objects.

"Go fuck yourself you ugly piece of shit." Spawn said as he pulled the trigger.

With that multiple green bullets were fired from the guns that were formed from the blood and magic energy that was absorbed into it. The White Walker was completely caught off guard by these weapons and had no time to dodge or defend.

The bullets tore thru his body dropping him to the ground, the chain that was fighting with the Walker previously used this time to puncture into his chest. The White Walker let out a piercing howl filled with trepidation and anger as he felt his energy being drawn out of him.

Fear appeared within its mind as it realized it was being devoured, dieing was nothing to the White Walker, but the feeling of being eaten was different.

If you meet a person in a dark alley that you know is trying to kill you is scary, but just add the fact that you know they are a cannibal, that fear is exponentially increased by many times. It's one thing to have the fear of death, but no one wants to be eaten even after death. It's why we have coffins, so that when you are put into the ground, you aren't eaten by bugs and worms.

The White Walker struggled, trying to break free from the chain that was stabbed into his chest, but the injuries he had sustained from the bullets had weakened him greatly. Spawns blood was toxic, even Angela would be harmed should his blood get on her skin for a long enough period of time.

The chain then lit up with a green flame, the absorption process increased dramatically as the White Walker began to melt from the hellfire. As he melted the same dark icy blue energy flowed back up the chain towards Spawn.

While Spawn consumed the White Walker, back in the village, Aiden saw the whole thing happen with interest, he was about to step in when Spawn was injured but was surprised to see him create magical guns out of his own blood.

'It must be because he is so comfortable with guns that he instinctively created what he has always used. Thankfully they were absorbed back into his body, this world isn't ready for firearms.' Aiden thought to himself as he absentmindedly listened to the girls explain who we were and our purpose for coming here.

"We have a city that is safe, it will be our capital city, for all the clans of Free Folk. You will be safe there, we have plenty of food and space for everyone. It is led by the new King Beyond the Wall Mance Rayder, he also has a council of chiefs that help govern the many clans and help resolve disputes." Val explained to the villagers.

"There be no cities in the true north lass, not ever, there was only one town ever built but that was destroyed centuries ago." One of the elderly men responded as he shook his head, "Hardhome was destroyed by raiding cannibals and since then no other has ever been built."

"Aye, that is where the new city is to be built old man, upon the ruins of the old shall a new life be built." Ygritte stated back.
