Chapitre 16: Chapter 16: Dothraki Attack

As Elia and the children mourned the loss of Rhaella, the Kingsguard did the next best thing. They began to dig a hole within a rooms floor in the estate.

They wanted to at least make it large enough to hide the children at the very least and hope that even after they were killed, the children wouldn't be taken. Rhaenys was still young, but she was old enough to be able to get to Dorne with her siblings and young aunt if needed.

They had made an attempt to escape Tyrosh, but were ambushed by many in the city. The leaders of Tyrosh had learned of the incoming Dothraki horde and their purpose, so to ensure their city wasn't raided by the incoming Dothraki they made sure the Targaryens stayed.

They didn't dare to attack directly and capture them themselves, Arthur Dayne's reputation proceeded him, so they only focused on keeping them contained till the Dothraki arrived.

So the only choice was to hide the children and hope that the two Princesses didn't suffer, though they knew that was wishful thinking if they were taken by the Dothraki after they were dead.

After they had dug out all they could, since if they dug out anymore the section of floor that was over it would require additional reinforcements to keep it from being noticed. The floor would sag if the hole was bigger.

The last few days were the hardest, Elia and Lyanna spent as much time as they could with their children, knowing that most likely they would never see them again.

Neither women had plans to be taken, both women came from an area of the kingdom that was completely different then the rest. Dorne and the North had women fighters unlike the other southern kingdoms.

They wouldn't give Viserys the satisfaction of giving the Dothraki what he promised them, they would fight to the death, hoping that should Viserys still be alive, that the Dothraki killed him since they walked away empty handed.

The final night the five adults sat quietly and drank wine together, reminiscing on life and their families, telling of their secrets even. Elia suddenly started laughing hysterically, which scared the others thinking she had gone mad.

However what she said completely changed that thinking.

"Oh I completely forgot, all this talk of the past made me realize. These Dothraki are dead when Aiden finds out. Woe to those horse fuckers, I shall have the last laugh." Elia said a little tipsy from the wine.

This caused the others to also laugh, this did make them feel a little better knowing that in their own deaths, they would be bringing a calamity upon the Dothraki.

"I don't mean to be the one to spoil the mood, but there has been no word on Aiden in all this time. I know the boy has abilities but he was just a boy." Gerold said as he wiped a tear from his eye that was beginning to form.

"Oh he's alive. He hasn't been heard from for a reason. He left to get some family inheritance so its normal he won't be seen by anyone." Elia said with a smile as she remembered the young boy who filled her life with joy.

"Family inheritance? Like my Sword? He's a Sand so obviously hes one of yours, so who is his mother? It's obvious he went to get something from his mother's side. What was she from Yi Ti or Ibben maybe?" Arthur asked curiously.

The only other person to know Aiden's true origins was Rhaella and Elia, everyone else just assumed he was using magic to do what he was doing.

Magic had been lost to Westeros for a very long time, so many of them had no idea what limitations magic had.

"Well since tomorrow may be our last day, and you have all shared your tales, allow me to tell you the greatest of all stories. Aiden isn't from here at all." Elia said then leaned in close over the table and pointed up.

"He is a child of a god from another world, that is what I gathered from the being that brought him to me. In exchange for the being healing Rhaenys when she came down with a terrible fever, that was actually an attempt at poisoning, I had to agree to love the boy as a mother too. At first I hesitated, I mean the Seven does speak about devil and demons that make deals for your soul, when I asked why, do you know what he said?" Elia paused and looked at them all listening with their full attention.

"He said because he and his brother never had a mother, he had grown up never knowing the love of a mother until very late in his life. So he didn't wish for his baby brother to go thru the same. When I heard that, how could I say no? He was such a good baby, so loving and caring. So Rhaenys was healed and I became the mother of two. So if he is going to get his family inheritance then he is up in the stars somewhere. But I know he will return, can you imagine what its like being up there in the stars, must be beautiful." Elia said as tears began to fall as she looked up into the night sky.

Lyanna too began to cry, she felt Elia's emotion as she told the story.

The three Kingsguard had shocked expressions.

"So you mean he's not your Uncle's bastard?" Gerold said with a furrowed brow as he struggled to wrap his head around what she said.

"No, but he agreed to say he was since it was the only way I would be able to keep him with me at Kings Landing. I couldn't ship him back to Dorne, although my homeland doesn't discriminate against bastards as the rest do, he wouldn't get that motherly love. Most likely my brother would've just put him into a home or some orphanage. I am truly sorry I lied to you all these years, although I am sorry, I would do it again the same way if I was given the chance." Elia said as she calmed down a little.

"Well that does kind of explain things, but are you sure he was a god? It is said demons can disguise themselves as divine beings as well." Gerold asked as his inquiring mind wanted more.

"Oh please, that boy is no demon. Do you forget he saved me in that tower? I felt that light, it was golden like the sun, the warmth was like that of a mother's. I think that is because of you Elia. You taught the boy love, I feel much better now, I know that even if I am gone, my Aegon has someone he can rely on." Lyanna said as she held onto Elia's hand.

"I didn't forget, it's just hard to believe. Gods coming down from the stars, can you blame me for asking more? My family comes from learned men, we tend to question the unbelievable." Gerold said then finished off his cup.

"Jaime, you have first watch. Although they won't be here till mid day, you never know about these Tyroshi cunts making a last ditch effort to gift us all to those horse fuckers as the Princess called them." Gerold said with a chuckle as Elia's face went red at the realization of what she said.

The night went without incident, each went to bed thinking this was the last night they would have.

By first light they quickly fed the children and arranged a sleeping tonic, they couldn't risk the babies crying during or after the battle which would mean their deaths.

A few hours later Jaime, who had taken watch in the highest room came rushing down, "They will be here in ten minutes, so its time."

Both mothers kissed there children and fed them the tonics, and told them they were playing a game, after opening the floor, revealing a small cubby hole filled with blankets to make it as comfortable as possible, they laid the children down as the tonic began to take affect.

Replacing the floor boards and ensuring nothing looked out of place, the Kingsguard took their positions along with the two Princesses. Gerold Hightower took his position outside the front door.

Removing his large sword from its sheath, he stabbed it into the ground, resting his hands on the hilt to ensure it was at the ready.

He could tell that the Dothraki were almost there, not because he could see or hear them, rather it was the lack of seeing or hearing anyone else in the area.

'If I can kill the Khal that will just leave his blood riders, most likely the rest of the Dothraki will leave since they would need to go choose another to leader.' Gerold thought as his heart pounded.

Gerold was an excellent swordsman, no where near as good as Arthur or Barristan but his advantage was his size and strength.

He could accurately and swiftly wield a two handed sword with just one hand. But that didn't make him fully confident in winning against a Dothraki, especially a Khal.

Gerold took deep rhythmic breaths to ease his nerves, he cleared his mind from his worries and fear. He knew to have any chance at success he needed to have a clear and calm mind.

To be impatient for victory, will leave you open for defeat. In any battlefield, a chaotic mind was your worst enemy, you had to take in what was going on around you fully, keep your vision broad instead of narrow, otherwise an enemy can sneak up from behind and end your life.

That was how many knights, even if they were renowned for there skills, died on the battlefield. They focused on what was in front of them, not aware they were moving past their front line and into enemy territory, a enemy can slip behind and without others to work together they were easily slain.

Although it would be a one on one fight, you still had to be mindful. Just because someone agreed to a dual didn't mean that if they began to lose, others may take advantage to save their leader.

It was widely known that Dothraki adhere to their customs, but that was also when it was against another Dothraki. Many of them didn't believe that foreigners deserved the same respect and honor that they gave to each other.

Many foreigners had learned this lesson at the cost of their lives. This was why Gerold didn't have Arthur, who was a much better swordsman than himself, to handle the dual with the Khal.

Arthur was an honorable man, he would be blind to betrayal, Gerold would not. He knew honor on a battlefield was a joke, a farce told by knights to make themselves feel better. It was all about survival, before every battle you can find those same knights who preached honor coating their swords and daggers with poisons.

Some even carried pouches with pepper or some other alchemic powder that they can toss into the enemies face. Dead men tell no tales, so their tactics are only known by the men around them. That was only if they were paying attention, most would be too focused on surviving themselves.

As Gerold cleared his mind, his concentration was broken by a familiar manic laughter.

"Good, Ser Gerold, you didn't run. I was hoping you would to make this all the more enjoyable. Would you like to bend the knee to me now? This way you can still watch over my mother and the princesses. Hahaha." Viserys said aloud as he and a small group of Dothraki came up thru the empty street to the entrance to the estates main entrance.

"Your mother is dead you little cunt. Died two weeks ago after hearing of your deeds as the Beggar King. A disgrace to the Targaryen name." Gerold spit on the ground in disgust.

"You will pay for your insolent tongue. I AM THE DRAGON! The Princesses should feel honored, thanks to them I will have my army, I will take back what was stolen."

"It was never yours in the first place, your nothing but a boy who thinks too highly of yourself. You will never be more than what you already are, a wanna be king who will only ever be known as a begging cunt who can't even fight his own battles. If Aiden was here you would still be cowering in whatever shit hole you been living."

"ENOUGH! KILL HIM NOW!" Visarys shouted in madness, even the mention of Aiden sent a shiver down his spine.

"I demand a dual with your Khal." Gerold said in broken Dothraki, he had practiced that line all night.

He wanted to make sure the other Dothraki understood what he was doing.

"WHAT ARE YOU FOOLS DOING? I SAID KILL HIM!" Viserys shout again after seeing none of the Dothraki attack. He didn't know what Gerold said in the Dothraki language.

However he did receive a backhand from Khal Drogo.

"You command nothing" Drogo said to Viserys who had fallen to the ground with a busted lip, shocked that his own ally seemed to turn on him.

Drago pulled out his Arakh, which was a cresent moon shaped curved blade which was a standard weapon used by all Dothraki.

Drogo confidently walked up to within ten paces of Gerold, unlike the Kingsguard who had a full plate of armor, he had none on at all. He was bare chested with leather straps that crossed over his chest.

Gerold was the first to move, grabbing the hilt he swung for the neck.

Drogo effortlessly bend backwards to dodge, then side stepped and slashed at Gerold's gut.

Gerold moved the sword in a upwards slash, ignoring the cut since his armor deflected the sword.

Drogo however was agile and quick, it was the only advantage not having plate armor on was mobility.

Seeing his attack didn't work, Drogo studied the armor, seeing where the weakness were which were at the joints.

As the fight progressed, Drog continued to dodge and parry easily, Gerold began to slow as he used up his energy, this was when Drogo moved in and slashed at the back of Gerold's knees, cutting a large gash that rendered them completely useless. Gerold dropped to his knees.

Viserys laughed at the sight, "Don't kill him, I want him to see what happens to the Princesses before he dies. Hahaha."

Drogo didn't pay attention and walked up and used his curved blade to lift the helmet off, giving him access to Gerold's throat.

"You lose. Women mine." Drogo said in common.

Just as he was about to cut his head from his shoulders, a voice came from behind, this voice completely shut Viserys up from his laughter.

"Is that so? Cause from where I'm standing the only thing thats yours is what I leave you with. That includes you, 'dear uncle Viserys'."
