Chapitre 6: Chapter 6: Kings Landing Captured

Kings Landing Main Gate

A few hours after Tywin's forces invaded Kings Landing, the rebel army showed up in a hurry. At the front of the army, riding as if he was already King of the Seven Kingdoms, was Robert Baratheon.

Just behind him was Jon Arryn and Eddard Stark, the new Warden of the North, and behind them was an army of fifty thousand men made up of many northern houses as well as Rivermen, Vale and Stormland knights.

"Tell me you saved some more dragonspawn for me to crush with my hammer. Crushing that cunt Rhaegar's chest in didn't quench my hammers thirst for dragon. HAHAHA!" Robert laughed as he raised his hammer, causing many of the soldiers behind to laugh and hoot.

Tywin who looked at the clown in front of him with a straight face, "I have sent my best men to retrieve Aerys and the Princess of Dorne for you, as well as her children. The city is now yours."

"HAHAHA. Hear that men? We may just be getting to enjoy ourselves a little Dornish cunt before the end of the day." Robert boomed with laughter which caused many of the men behind him to let out cheers as well as multiple comments on what they planned to do with such a beauty if they were given the chance.

Eddard Stark however frowned, especially when he looked to Jon Arryn who couldn't seem to stop smiling, all of this felt wrong to him.

Eddard, or as his friends and family called him Ned, was an honorable man like many in the north. They didn't believe in harming civilians, killing and butchering soldiers was one thing, but to savagely rape and pillage unarmed civilians was something entirely different.

It sickened him, especially since he had recognized some of the voices detailing what they would do to Princess Elia in the name of his sister, those voices came from Northern men.

Not wanting to be here for such things Ned walked his horse forward and spoke loud enough for all to hear, "Lord Tywin, is there any word of my sister being within the Red Keep?"

Tywin couldn't help but smirk, which he quickly hid behind his political mask.

"Not yet Lord Stark, I sent men just a little bit ago to the Red Keep to take prisoners, if she was in there we will bring her out to you."

While that was what he said out loud, internally he couldn't help but laugh at the man, for his men had orders to do to Lyanna what he ordered done to Elia. Tywin knew if she was in there, he would be getting a corpse along with Robert, putting his daughter as the Queen.

A man then ran to Tywin's side and whispered something that neither Ned or anyone else could hear. All they knew was it wasn't something Tywin wanted to hear, Tywin's usual calm mask cracked as he stormed off inside the gates.

Ned quickly followed, thinking it could be related to his sister, Robert and Jon soon followed behind. What greeted them was a wagon with four dead men on the bed of the wagon.

King Aerys was the most notable, then many recognized Gregor Clegane and Armory Lorch. They both were in pieces, while Gregor looked like he had been pulled apart after being tied to horses while Armory looked like he was cleanly cut in two.

"I see the Mad Fucking King, Lord Tywin but wheres my Dornish Princes and her fucking dragonspawn?" Robert roared as he brought his hammer down on Aerys skull with a sickening thud.

Aerys head exploded into pieces of skull and brain matter.

"It seems my men were unsuccessful in retrieving her, her trail led to the port so that means there is only one place she and her children could be." Twin said sternly.

"Yea that God forsaken dragon island. One simple fucking task Tywin, you had the element of surprise and yet you let a cunt and two children slip through your fucking fingers. So now what? You expect me and my army to fucking swim to go get them? Five fucking boats in the harbor wont be able take my army to the island." Robert roared in anger.

"You owe me a Dornish whore you old cunt, I better have at least three in my tent within the next bloody hour or its your fucking head that gets to test my hammers durability on next. Let's go Ned, I need some wine." Robert angrily said as he made his way to the Red Keep.

"I didn't come here for that Robert, I came here to save my sister. She isn't here so I need to go further south, Dorne was the last place Rhaegar was before all this. My men are going home while I go find Lyanna." Ned said seriously.

"HOME?! The war is not over yet Ned." Robert said with anger laced in his voice.

"It is for the North. We got our justice. King Aerys is dead, Rhaegar is dead."

Ned answered but was cut off by Robert angrily stating, "There's still Elia and her children as well as that little white haired bastard Viserys and fucking Rhaella is pregnant with another fucking dragonspawn. This war is far from over!"

"As I said, it is for me and the North. We will have no part in killing women and children who are of no threat." Ned resolutely answered.

"Not a threat! Did you just say they aren't a fucking threat? They will always be a threat to MY THRONE! Fine go back home, I'll finish this war without you." Robert angrily snorted and began to leave for his tent.

"What about Lyanna?" Ned asked which he wished he hadn't.

"What about her? If you haven't put two and two together, 'good brother', I'll make it simple for you. Lyanna is dead. Rhaegar raped her to death, you want to find her corpse, go right ahead. I have already accepted I will never have my love at my side. The dragon did that Ned, they took her from me. So I will take everything from them." Robert said after looking directly into his eyes, once he finshed he left for his tent. He wanted to get drunk and laid.

Ned couldn't believe what Robert had just said, especially after everything that had happened. Lyanna was the main reason for the North even coming south.

It wasn't that they didn't care about Rickard and Brandon Stark's murder, it was just that both of them were confirmed dead while Lyanna had a chance at being alive. Sure they were there for revenge, but that was secondary. Rescuing Lyanna was the priority.

Ned tried to look for support from Jon Arryn, but it didn't come. Jon Arryn was in too good of a mood while also like Robert, he knew this wasn't over. It wouldn't be over until all the Targaryens were dead and gone, root and stem.

Ned then sent the Northern army home, while he and some of his most trusted men rode south to Dorne to look for clues to his sisters whereabouts. The journey would take a month or two depending on what they ran into along the way.

The realm was in chaos from the war which spanned almost a full year so far, but was coming to a close. On the way to Kings Landing the rebel army had showed up at Storm's End to break the seige done by the Tyrell army and negotiations began in hopes that they would bend the knee.

Which they did after finding out Rhaegar was dead, this would mean that Viserys was technically heir to the throne, none of the lords wanted another Mad King on the throne.

Had Rhaegar been crowned king before his death, then many of the kingdoms would have fought on, cause that would've meant that Aegon would be heir instead and tho they didn't know if Aegon had the madness, what they did know was Viserys did.

While the war had yet to end, it did reach a lull due to the rebels didn't have a fleet at the ready. It would take at least two months before they could gather the necessary fleet to bring the thirty thousand soldiers to Dragonstone to capture it.

Jon Arryn used this time wisely, he arranged a coronation for Robert within a moons time. His goal was to stabalize the kingdoms. When they had entered the vault within the Red Keep and found it empty, Jon knew that the treasures were moved to Dragonstone.

This had really made the situation hard for Jon Arryn, who had became the unofficial official Hand of the King. Jon knew that unless they came up with money to repair Kings Landing, then Robert's rule would ultimately fail.

So Jon Arryn did one thing he didn't want to do, borrow money from the Lannister's. He knew it was the only choice. They could wait till after the coronation and borrow from the Iron Bank, but by that time, the houses who joined by force may seize an opportunity which could turn all his gains into nothing.

Jon wasn't about to lose when he was just steps away from dethroning the dragon, he was finally getting revenge for his family for making them bend the knee all those centuries ago.

The Arryns hatred that Jon grew up with was unknowingly misplaced. They felt that the Targaryens tricked their king all those centuries ago.

When Aegon began his conquest with his sisters, after the previous King of the Vale was killed in battle, it made his son, who was but seven or eight years old, king and his mother the regent.

One day as their king played in the garden of their castle Queen Visenya landed with her dragon in the court yard. When the boy-king saw her, he promised to bend the knee in exchange for a ride on her dragon.

Visenya readily agreed and the Vale came under Targaryen rule. This was where their hatred was misplaced. The Targaryens allowed the Vale to be still ruled by house Arryn since they surrendered peacefully.

However it was an internal struggle between the former boy-king, now turned Warden as well as growing older, his younger brother staged a coup and killed his brother, proclaimed himself King of the Mountains once again.

Before the Targaryens could put the rebellion down, all the other house's rebelled and killed the would be king. So a cousin, who shared the Arryn name, was named the new Warden. This is the line Jon Arryn descended from.

So the Targaryens were not even responsible for the fall of the main branch of House Arryn, and they were the ones to put Jon Arryns branch family in power making it the main branch moving forward. Without them Jon would never had even been close to ruling the Vale.

After Jon received the loan of two million golden dragons, he began using the funds to rebuild the city as well as giving some to the Stormland and Vale knights. Not one gold dragon went to the Riverlands or to the North.

Robert Baratheon spent his days drinking, whoring and hunting.

The repair of the city was done swiftly but was done very poorly, which caused the already overwhelmed sewage systems under the city to almost completely become useless.

As time passed the stench of the city grew worse, the people said nothing, they knew transitions in power took time, so they waited for the brighter and better future that the rebel army promised.

When it was announced that the new King would be taking on a Lannister wife, many within the city didn't like it. They knew what the Lannister's had done. They raided, pillaged and murdered many innocent and unarmed citizens when they captured the city.

This had made the Lannister's near the bottom in public support, not just in Kings Landing, but across all Westeros.

Robert didn't care what or how the people thought of him, he had only one thing on his mind, well other than wine, women, and hunts, it was getting the ships there faster.

He wanted the Targaryens dead, and he wanted it before Rhaella gave birth to another. Right now, all that was on his mind was that all the dragons were at one place right now.

If he could get his army to that island and capture it, he would have every dragon under one roof.

So he pressured all the lords with ships to bring them to Kings Landing, Jon Arryn had tried to advise Robert against calling on the name of the crown until it was official. But like the marriage agreement between him and Lyanna, which was never truly signed, the only real agreement that the Stark's made was the marriage of Brandon Stark and Catelyn Tully.

Rather than wait until he had the signed contract in hand, Robert began to spread word that he was engaged to Lyanna Stark without hesitation.

His own lie is what drove Lyanna to willingly go with Rhaegar, had he not said anything she wouldn't have joined him so easily. Ironically though, her fate had she not may have been much worse considering that both Jon Arryn and Tywin Lannister would have kidnapped, raped and murdered her had she not went with Rhaegar.

It also didnt help that word had gotten out that it was Tywin's son Jaime who brought Princess Elia to safety along with her two children and Dornish bastard to Dragonstone.

This had angered Robert greatly since he had realized that Tywin knew this was the case from the start but didn't inform them at the time, he only said a Kingsguard helped her escape.

There were seven Kingsguard in total and Ser Lewin Martell and Ser Jonothor Darry were killed at the Trident along with Rhaegar, Ser Barristan Selmy too was at the Trident but was captured alive.

In exchange for giving Rhaegar a proper burial, Barristan swore to serve as Robert's Kingsguard, Robert gladly accepted since Barristan was well known as the second best swordsman of Westeros.

So that left four Kingsguard missing and unaccounted for; Ser Arthur Dayne, Ser Gerold Hightower, Ser Oswell Whent and Ser Jaime Lannister.

This was quite nerve-racking for Jon Arryn, although they knew for sure Jaime was on Dragonstone, it was the other three Kingsguard that worried Jon.

Arthur Dayne was the number one swordsman in all of Westeros and the Hightower family was an extremely powerful family. If Gerold could get support from his family then they could return with legions of mercenaries and retake the kingdom.

So a massive bounty was placed, rewarding anyone who brought information that led to the capture of the three men, Tywin had been the one to put up the reward so obviously he wouldn't put one out for his son.

When questioned, he simply stated that they already knew where Jaime was, so putting out a reward for information they already had was just a waste of gold.
