"WHOA!" Rilian exclaimed, jumping back.
But right as my teeth were about to make contact with his neck, I felt lifted high into the air by a pair of strong hands.
"I think you're gonna need something stronger," Sean said as he held me off the floor.
I tried to kick and squirm out of it, but his grip wouldn't budge.
"Should we knock him out?" asked Justinian.
"Bad idea!" I gasped, finally managing to draw out some words.
"Aspen!" Rilian exclaimed, rolling back up onto his feet. "What the hell happened?!"
Rilian stayed a few feet away from me; fortunately, thanks to Sean's iron-like grip, I couldn't get any closer to him.
"I-"
I tried to tell him, I tried to find any way to form the words, but nothing I came up with would come out of my mouth. Anything I would have said would be trying to tell him somehow, and the spell just wouldn't allow it. I was struck silent. I whimpered and dropped my head, limp like I had been shot.
"I think he will keep trying," said Sean.
