The blood had gone to my head. I could feel Aspen in my arms, tensing and trying to push me away. But I couldn't force myself to let him go.
It had taken me over so quickly, all I could feel was the warmth of his blood as it washed into my mouth, and those precious little whimpers vibrated against my lips as he grew nervous. Oh, I could taste it in his blood...
I had him and held him. He couldn't hope to escape me. I knew I was far stronger than Aspen from the moment I met him. I had never met a wolf so small, he felt fragile in my hands. I think that might have been why I didn't try to eat him right then; I couldn't help but pity him.
But I wasn't thinking about that right then. I was lost in the rush of adrenaline and the waves of scalp-tingling pleasure that rushed through me with every little gulp of blood. Wolf blood was powerful and delicious. So savory and sweet as it rolled over my tongue, I wanted more.
