Lord Kieran didn't leave his mate's side despite his responsibilities as the High Lord in his domain. Cal and Aiden were both forced to come and go from his private quarters to deliver his work while Iris occupied his bed as she slept. It had been three days since she successfully revived Ricci and her magic hadn't returned since then.

Iris remained asleep, but it didn't worry the demon lord this time because this was a usual occurrence whenever she used her magic beyond her limit. However, the only difference this time was the uncertainty of whether her magic resurfaced again or she would remain as a normal human for the rest of her life after receiving a 'mark of a taboo', which Lord Kieran had.

"How's Amelia and Chrysanthe doing?" Lord Kieran asked, not removing his gaze from the scroll he was reading. He knew that Iris would ask about their whereabouts as soon as she woke up.
