Synopsis
Book 1 of the Brides of Darkness Series
For hundreds of years, Calaren Town had been offering virgin maidens to fulfill their part on the treaty they made with the Court of Shadows to keep their small town under their protection. To be chosen meant death to the townsfolk, as there was no turning back to becoming a human again.
Upon realizing that her younger sister was chosen as one of the maidens to be sacrificed by their impoverished town to the thirteen demon lords who once ruled their land, Iris Scarborough volunteered to take her place instead to save her.
There was nothing exceptional about Iris, except for the secret she was keeping from everyone. However, even before she was taken away, Iris had already caught the eye of one of the demon lords.
Rumors say that Lord Kieran Fleurnoir was the personification of death. His mere presence was enough to suck the life essence out of those around him. He was also known to be one of the strongest demons of all time, who possesses extremely dangerous and powerful magic.
Taken to Asnar, a place filled with magical beings and monsters, Iris found herself enthralled and captivated not only by the place and its residents, but also by the cold and enigmatic demon lord, Lord Kieran.
Once there, Iris realized that Asnar and Lord Kieran himself were different from what humans thought them to be.

This novel is highly recommended! I would usually get the feel on a novel on its first chapter, and I wasn’t disappointed when I continued reading it. The storyline is fresh and original, and the characters relatable. No cringy dialogue, and so far the flow of the story is unpredictable, which makes it more interesting. This now is one of my favorite novels here in Webnovel. 😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Im loving the book already. The FL is a strong, brave kindhearted woman who reminds me of Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger games. She is the pillar of support for her mother and youngef siblings and has magical abilities that she is forced to hide. The ML is strong and handsome and though he is known to have a dislike for humans he is drawn towards the FL when she saves him from danger unknowing of his identity as a demon lord. Though their interaction has been limited so far, still you can slready sense the bond between them. Eagerly awaiting the storys dAevelopment and the romance blossoming between the two!!

The story is developing very well. The world background looks huge and has lots of potential. It feels like adventure with romance. Initially it feel like Hunger games starting but it was quickly proven wrong. looking forward to reading further chapters.
This book is so well written and addictive that I am almost afraid to read further and reach the end...I know this book is on hold because of health issues of this awesome author but I am still hoping that the author is getting well soon and able to write again. So please get well soon 🙏💞💞

I am simply IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK the plottwists really make it interesting .The characters are all amazing PLEASE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT to anyone who loves fantasy novels and love triangle themes.

Story is pretty interesting up till chap 50, just not sure why the low count of views... Perhaps the author may consider to not overexplain certain things. It makes the story being purposely dragged when so much can be cut short and omited? I have a feeling the story is gonna be nice but maybe not too lengthy and draggy? note: every chap isn’t that long just that I’m someone who prefers reading things straight to the point… Sorry miss author, I don’t mean to upset you but I feel you should get more feedback 😀
