A week had passed since the incident with the Power Stone, the Kree, and the Chitauri.
After the battle, they did not know what to do with the remains of the battle.
So Alex allowed SHIELD and United Nations forces to take away the remains of the Kree and Chitauri spaceships at that location as he was not interested.
The Power Stone was given to the Avengers.
Gamora's group and Captain Marvel decided to stay on Earth, more specifically in Genosha to enjoy a good vacation.
Of course, Alex had to pay them for their work protecting the Stone and was very generous, which made Rocket very happy.
Another thing that happened that week is that those Beyonders stopped communicating with Est and Lina when they rejected them.
Which was a relief to Alex, since the Beyonders are very eccentric beings and could continue to pester if they wanted to, of course, Alex would seek them out if they got too annoying.
Riri had also managed to create a portal to the Negative Zone with the plans that Alex brought from the other universe and has been sending Sentinels to do some reconnaissance work, with which they discovered great mineral resources such as gold, vibranium and other metals buried in its subsoil.
When Alex received the information on those resources, he smiled.
With that he didn't have to worry about Genosha's resources running out.
Jane Foster also brought him information about traveling to other universes.
The woman had implemented it to her machine and she was surprised by the number of realities that existed, of course, she put many security protections and keeps it off since Alex told her that it would be dangerous for something from those universes to notice them, after all, they didn't know what was in those universes.

Alex is currently at his office.
At that moment, there is a knock at his door.
"Come in" Alex said calmly.
When he finished speaking, the door opens and a group of people made up of Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Peter Quill and Carol Danvers enter.
"I was waiting for you" Alex said with a calm smile.
"Why did you call us?" Gamora asked, although she already had an idea.
"Have you thought about what I offered you?" Alex asked everyone who accompanied Gamora, instead of answering the question.
Three days ago, Alex had offered them to work for him forming a team.
They did not immediately refuse and asked him for a few days to think about it.
Gamora is silent and looks at the others who were thoughtful, but at that moment Captain Marvel says:
"I accept"
The rest look at each other and, nodding their heads, also agree.
Alex is satisfied with their response and says:
"Don't worry, your job will be easy. You'll help Gamora, keep me informed of what's going on in the universe, and protect it if there's a problem"
"You will be guardians, the Guardians of the Galaxy"
They are surprised by Alex's words.
"I like that, since protecting others from tyranny is my job" Carol Danvers replied with a smile.
"Guardians of the Galaxy, it's not a bad name, after all we did" Peter Quill said.
"Well, if I'm going to make a hero, it's better to get paid than to work for free" Rocket said.
"I am Groot" Groot said.
"As long as I messed up Thanos' plans, I don't mind working with them" Drax replied.
Gamora just smiles.
"Well, I already have your spaceship ready with some improvements, there are two Legion Sentinels, and the weapons that I offered you, Rocket, are already on board" Alex said.
"Oh, that's great, so the trip won't be boring" Rocket said excitedly.
He had seen Genosha's technology and had even entered the lab to snoop around, of course, in the end he was whipped out by Riri for trying to touch things without permission, but from that look alone he knew the technology far surpassed the of other intelligent races.
"So when will you leave?" Alex asked them.
"We're leaving this afternoon, we've rested enough already" Gamora answered calmly.
"Wait, we still have to decide something important before we leave" Peter Quill said suddenly and from his expression he seemed somewhat serious.
They all look at him full of curiosity to know what is that important.
Feeling everyone's eyes on him, Peter Quill asks:
"Who is going to be the captain of this group?"
Gamora and Carol Danvers roll their eyes at his words but still decide to play along.
"That's simple, the strongest has to be the leader" Carol Danvers said with a smile.
"That's true Quill, the candidates must fight to the death to elect the captain" Drax said seriously.
"I think we should do that" Gamora said with a smile as she looked at Peter Quill.
Peter Quill breaks out in a cold sweat as he feels the gaze of the two women.
"Hey, if you kill him, can I keep his units?" Rocket asked casually.
Peter Quill's face twitches and he glares at Rocket when he hears his words.
"Hahaha, just kidding, I know we work better when we share the load" giving a dry laugh, Peter Quill replied as he looked at the two women who could crush him with ease.
Alex just smiled at their interaction. He knew that at this point the Guardians of the Galaxy had officially been formed, albeit with a very powerful extra named Captain Marvel, which was good as it made them stronger.
After some small talk, the Guardians of the Galaxy left the office to get ready and begin their journey.

That same afternoon, Alex said goodbye to the Guardians of the Galaxy, as they used their spaceship and headed for outer space.
