A lone man stood at the peak of a small mountain, he was looking down the mountain and an oppressive force. The masters and top members of the Four Great Guilds stand before him. Each of them had a determined face. Tensions were high, no one wanted to make the first move as each side had already taken serious damage.
"Give it up Ghost, you can't kill all of us. Nor can your friends keep our thousands of guild members back for long!" shouted a tall man.
Ghost only continued to look down at the group of thieves. They wanted his [Jewel of the Mist], for him it was the final item needed to evolve into the first God tiered class while they wanted it to grow their own strengths. "As true as it may be, I can still put up a hell of a fight. Besides, which of you will the Jewel go to?" Ghost was hoping to cause in-fighting so that he could escape.
The opposing group already expected this trick. "Nice try we already came to a deal. As for what the deal is, a dead man has no need to know."
Seeing that his trick didn't work, Ghost had to go to plan B. Mist started forming around Ghost's feet and expanded out at an alarming speed. Ghost had casted [Mist Domain], it was his preferred battle ground. He had absolute control over the rhythm of the fight whilst in the mist.
"Useless!" A skinny man called out. "[Grand Gale]!" An intense wind was summoned out of nowhere. It was so strong it cut down the size and thickness of Ghost's [Mist Domain] by two-thirds!
A big and burly man had contempt for Ghost's actions, "Haha! There is no way you can win Ghost! Give up and hand over the Jewel and make this easy. You tried so hard to prevent us from getting the skill book for [Grand Gale] but failed in the end. There is nothing you can do!"
'Damn, if not for that bastard they would have never gotten a hold on that skill!' Ghost thought to himself. He was livid about that event…
Ghost knew he only had two options now. He had kept two skills secret from the world, even his friends. "[Blood Mist]!" he shouted!
Suddenly a thickener blood red mist rolled in from all sides. It quickly encapsulated the group of people, they had no time to react.
They started to panic when they noticed that they were taking constant damage at a steady pace.
"Cast [Grand Gale] damn it!" someone called out.
The spell was cast but it only removed half of the mist. The damage slowed down and now was a slight inconvenience. One of their healers was disposed of due to having to constantly channel a healing spell to offset the damage they were receiving.
They all had a sour look on their face, Ghost was no longer in tatters and his health points were full.
Someone decided to test the waters, [Ice Shard]!. An ice sickle shot towards Ghost who didn't even try to dodge. It dealt a tenth of his health points but Ghost didn't seem to care. They all noticed that his health pool was increasing just as fast as they were taking damage. He was sapping their health to heal himself!
"Bastard!" A female voice rang out. "[Holy Cleanse]!" she shouted.
The blood red mist slowly disappeared. "Such a sinister spell, the God of Light is disgusted!" the girl continued.
While his health points are fully restored he knew it was a long shot to win. He had no choice but to use his final trump card. He whispered his last spell, "[Death's Domain]"
No one but him knew the truth behind the Mist God. He was the only survivor of the God Wars, no god could find him in his mist. The God made a deal with Death and slowly eroded the other God's vitality with this skill.

Death's Domain
Summon a persistent fog which cannot be dispelled. Deals slow but constant damage to any unfortunate souls caught in the mist. No healing may be conducted while within the mist. The more mana or energy embuned into the spell the larger the domain.
Only one may survive and exit Death's Domain, all others must perish.

Seeing the deathly domain around the group two spells were cast. "[Grand Gale]!", "[Holy Cleanse]!"
More spells were cast by the opposing guilds, each healer tried to cast healing magic but nothing worked.
"[Grand Gale] failed! The game will not let me cast it!"
"Same here I can't cast [Holy Cleanse]!"
The other heals notified the group that none of their healing spells are working either. They all looked in the direction that Ghost was last standing.
"Let it be known, you have pushed me to the edge. With this there can only be one survivor!" Ghost called out. After he was finished talking he uneqipted his daggers and took out a scythe from his inventory. It had an ancient and unholy feel to it. If anyone was to see it they would see a projection of Death behind Ghost for the weapon was [Death's Scythe]. The Mist God had tricked Death and stole the only weapon in existence that could even kill a God. While the scythe was heavily sealed so that Ghost could use it, it was still deadly.
The guilds knew they could waste no time. Everyone began their onslaught towards Ghost's last known location. Their target had yet to move. He knew his only chance would be to separate the front liners and the back liners. Patience was key.
The battle between the lone player and group raged on. All of the other forces fighting below the mountain had long died out due to [Death's Domain], even Ghost's friends. They held no grudge as they could tell this was Ghost's only chance at survival.
The guilds lost more than half of their party who was facing off with Ghost. Ghost was breathing heavily and his health and stamina was almost depleted.
"If not for your low defense your plan would have worked, Ghost." said one of the tanks.
Ghost smirked, "You have no clue, the outcome has long been determined."
Ghost's attitude through the enemy guild members for a loop. Why was he smiling? He is about to die and lose his Jewel.
They slowly started approaching Ghost from all sides. They kept fully alert as a trapped animal can be unpredictable.
Ghost started a crazed laugh which sent chills down his opponent's backs. He lifted the scythe above his head and held it there. "[Final Sacrifice]!" The scythe was swung towards his own neck!
"Not good, he plans on committing suidice! He won't drop his whole inventory!" someone called out.
"He is foolish, this is the [Titan's Graveyard] any and all deaths result in a level penalty and a full inventory drop, he is only making things easier for us." another person said in a confident voice.
The sound of flesh and bone being cut was heard followed by a fountain of blood and the plop of a head hitting the floor was heard. The sight was gruesome. Ghost has always shown no mercy to his enemies and now even less mercy to himself.
The surviving guild members put away their weapons as Ghost's health bar disappeared meaning he had completely died.
Just as someone was reaching down to loot his body, Ghost's eyes opened up with a red glow around them. Following a blinding light came Ghost's body.
** Scene Change **
Alex slowly opened his eyes. An all too familiar sight of his bedroom's ceiling was revealed before him. He slowly sat up and did his morning stretch.
"This time I won't fail…" Alex proceeded to get out of bed.
I have another novel that is being released slowly. Be aware, chapters may be sporadic.
