That’s a little odd to me because Leo does look like a foreigner and like he’s related to Desmond (& his eye color will continue to be altered). So, I don’t think anything would really be different if they had biological children. Leonor’s mother’s ancestry should be known already so her “foreign” genes shouldn’t cause alarm either. I get him not wanting to put Leonor’s life at risk striving for an heir, but even though there’s always a risk with pregnancy & child birth (especially in eras without modern medical technology such as this), women have been giving birth since the beginning. It’s not some rare, seemingly impossible occurrence. So, if Leo is already the heir, there would be no rush/pressure on them having children and Leonor could just focus on having a happy, healthy pregnancy & baby without those pressures and urgency. And if Desmond is worried she can’t handle pregnancy because he’s afraid she’ll have similar complications like her mother because of genetics, I don’t recall there being any issues with her mother’s ability to give birth until she was forced to get pregnant one after the other until she had a son. The stress and lack of recouperation time is likely to blame. But, you know, maybe I’m not seeing something…
