Resumen

At first, Leonor finds life with the Duke to be what she’s used to - walking on eggshells and never speaking what’s truly in her heart. Eventually, things slowly start to change as the Duke learns about the horrors she faced while living with her family. His power becomes the key to her revenge.
However, in a moment where she feels cornered, Leonor confesses to the Duke that she’s in love with someone else. The progress she has made with the Duke comes crashing down around her.
Will her magic abilities be enough to convince the Duke not to throw her out? If she can make herself useful to him, perhaps she can gain his sympathy somehow…

The story is wonderful, the details of everything, the characters and their personality, the conversations are lively, making their interactions look real. It's 'low pace' in some moments although may not be of the taste of some readers, grants more details that others(like me) would like so don't worry too much. I would definitely recommend this book, even if you're not a fan of the genre you could get a surprise here.
Shameless self review from the author!! I hear you when you say the flashback is slow but I believe every bit of the flashback is necessary to laying down the groundwork of Leonor von Burien's story. You won't be able to grasp who she is alongside the mysterious duke if things are fleshed out a little bit prior. *it's over at 53 so don't sweat it too much!!* If you aren't a lover of details and slow burn then please don't read! This is for the slow burn fantasy lovers like me. For the lovers of green flag ML's and whether or not appearance matters in the realm of love. #bringbackmaleyearning #yearning2024
The starting of the book is great, once you start to read you just can not stop. Seriously a great book, reading it is worth it.

So glad I found this hidden gem whilst browsing the Cupid’s Quill event comments as multiple people recommended it! I was not disappointed, and it’s so well-written that I don’t mind the slower pace. I’m only halfway through what’s currently published, and I find myself eager to read more. My one small critique I have is it’s a bit lacking in the world building aspect since it is a fantasy romance novel, but that may change as the story progresses further. The characters, dialogue, and the overall premise of the story so far has my full attention, and I look forward to seeing where the author takes us with her story!
I am writing this review just after going through synopsis, it really hooked me in there and I am looking forward to reading this amazing book.
I finished reading the chapters available right now and i found myself wanting more. The story makes me wonder what happened with Valerio in the war, what will happen when he hears that Leonor has married, will he surrender? I don't think so. Also, I want to know more about duke desmond, why is his appareance so "terrible"? He seems to have fell in love with Leonor in some moment without her realising, maybe in the academy? Just making theories. Also, the prince may be one of the supporters of Valerio to achieve the position to be with Leonor. Will he be able to achieve it soon enough? Or will duke desmond make her fall? Just throwing everything on my mind here. Good job, author, keep doing great, I will be following the story, although i don't comment much, I'll be there. The story started off great, but the flashback was getting too long and it became boring. It's a nice story though. I wish we could see more of the FL's life now, than the flashbacks.
This is an amazing book! As soon as I read the synopsis, I already got hooked! The world building in this story is utterly magnificent, and I hope to read more chapters soon! 2 thumbs up to the author and you deserve this 5* rating!

Queen Frieza has given us a lovely story with characters we can fall in love with. Magic, mystery, first love, revolt and heartbreak - what more can you want? The only downside is that you can't speed read this novel. Every sentence has meaning and no word should be missed. Thank you, Queen, for this amazing adventure.
I only read the 24 unlocked chapters, so can't speak about the whole book. Looks very promising: good characters, good writing. I keep trying to guess if the Duke and the love interest are the same person or different people, but I haven't progressed far enough into the novel to be sure either way. 🙂 I guess I'll have to keep reading. 🙂

this book is amazing. i like the concept of the story. it is not love at firs sight but rather fall in love in the process of force marriages. its fun to read. you cannot guess what will happens next. its so thrilling to read. i gives goose bumps every chapter. i hope more stories like this one. good luck!
Queen is here with her new book and seriously I am just in love with the very different kind of plot and the unique characters she has created. On top of that writing quality is top-notch, fit for a romance novel showing a historical era. The Duke is all mysterious while Valerio is so loveable. Leonor is resilient and I can't wait to see how she will handle her marriage with the Duke and fold the mysteries of Leonor. What I admire about Queen's books is that you will always get a Green Flag ML you will fall in love with. Updates will be fast and she always finishes her books.
