a better example of a regressor would be the main character of re-zero.
world hopper, regressors go back to the start of scenario in their body's at the time their regressing in. sense ruby and the other went back before their year at beacon in their grown up bodies not their younger bodies in the current timeline.
according to the author they see him as their creator because without him the curses couldn't start forming, so they respect/worship him as their king/leader.
Indeed these beings are neutral for now and few in number but it seems to me they are determined to protect the brat, Albus, from the Grimm.
