While I may not be the best judge of whether or not the story is good because of personal bias and prior knowledge , I would say that it is a good read to somebody that doesn’t know the series. The characters are described very well so far, and the events give you some semblance of what the characters personality is like. Although the pacing of the story Is a little fast for me it doesn’t take away from me not knowing what is going on in the chapter. It also go deeper into the world building with characters not seen in the original game. Overall, I recommend that you give this book a try. Even if you wouldn’t typically read a book of this genre.
