A couple days later, and Ryan made his way to The Starfall Arena. When he went inside he noticed It was alot more younger people than normal.
Ryan already have a guess in his heart the reason for it, but he didn't care. Ryan went to pick up his 50 mana stones, and made a request to fight a rank 2. There was only 6 more days until the entry test, so Ryan didn't want to waste anymore time.
Ryan have 250 mana stones in total now, and was planning on betting 50 mana stones on his next fight. It just at the back of his head a thought kept resurfacing, a thought to risk it all.
When he was training with Tom and his kids, he was taught alot of basic knowledge that most people should know. Like unspoken rules, or how the families with power, and the academy normally act. Many other things too.
But the one thing he found out that make him want to risk it all, is every month the last 5 people in the ranking will get kicked out the academy.
Ryan didn't think he will be able to stay in the school for more than 3 months if he don't rank up. And to rank up he need alot of mana stones. If he fight in the arena later after he get in the academy, he won't have the extra 200 mana stones to bet.
The more he thought about it, more he realize he doesn't really have a choice. He must rank up as soon as possible, the people in the academy will be extremely talented people. He already at a disadvantage because he is less talented, he can't afford to add a rank disadvantage on top of that too.
Ryan place a bet with every single mana stone he had and sat down to calm his overly beating heart. Even though this wasn't the first time he had went all in, but he subconsciously knows he have a higher chance at losing than before.
People want to show there best at the entry test, and the best way to do that is practice. The best place to practice right now is The Starfall Arena.
As Ryan waited for his turn to fight, he started regretting making the bet. Watching the rank 2 and 3 stage, he was able to see a noticeable difference in battle skills. The fights lasted longer and was more entertaining to watch. There was alot of people with unique elements.
Ryan stop watching the fights, he felt like he was losing confidence in himself with every second that passed. He took out a beast core to cultivate, and closed his eyes.
Not to much time pass until Ryan heard the announcer.
"For the rank2 stage are second fighter is Unrivalled In my rank, a rank1 novice. He fought 23 matches in total and won all 23. Will he overcome the rank gap and remain undefeated. This is your time to place your bets." The announcer yelled fervently.
Ryan eyes shot open and he made his way to the oath stone. He haven't took the oath today yet. He managed to clear his mind while cultivating and felt more relaxed about the fight.
He noticed his opponent was already standing on the stage. This wasn't his first fight today and Ryan felt regretful that he doesn't remember seeing him fight. His record is still on the screen though, but he not sure what he saw was a good thing or bad thing.
His number was 204 and he had no nickname. He had won 3 fights and loss 0. There a good chance that he is here to practice, so he shouldn't be fighting like its a life and death match, but he probably stronger than average.
After the oath Ryan made his way on the stage and stood across from his opponent. His opponent eyes was, cold and calculating, glinted in gloom. Ryan could tell he didn't look to happy to see him on the stage.
A voice with an obvious tone of annoyance drifted into Ryan's ears. "Why do they got me fighting a rank1 novice, are they looking down on me. I'm about to be a rank 3 any day now." His eyes narrowed more and the cruel intent in his gaze could not be concealed.
Ryan pulled his sword from his waist, and prepared himself to give it his all. He didn't care about what he had said, but cared more about the look in his opponent eyes that said way more.
"FIGHT!" The announcer yelled. Everyone was quick to start fighting but the second stage.
Ryan stood there not moving, he was low-key to afraid to attack. He never actually fought someone with this type of presence, its like the guy just naturally exuding an air of menace. There is no doubt in Ryan bone that this guy will try to beat him to death if he get an opportunity.
Ryan couldn't help but get a flash back of the monkey that nearly killed him, when looking at his opponent. He is tall, he would make any average person feel short. He had on fur beast armor, and you could tell he physically strong from the way he built.
The blood stains on his spikey gauntlets gave off a menacingly vibe making Ryan shudder internally. The thought of getting hit by him really made Ryan think about surrendering.
His opponent just stood there staring at Ryan causeing him to feel an unstoppable force that threatened to consume everything in its path.
"If you not going to attack, i will." His deep voice hint with viciousness woke Ryan up from his daze.
His opponent advanced towards him, his steps were heavy and determined. Ryan took a deep breath, and remember the reason why he doing this. He thought about how close he is to finding a way home. He thought about seeing his family, or a chance to see a beautiful familiar face he still think about from time to time. The person that stands in his path to all that is right in front of him.
Ryan let out his breath, and a new will to fight could be seen burning in his eyes.
