Capítulo 3: 003 Speak Of The Devil

"I must go now.." I stood up abruptly headed for the door. He had grabbed my wrist, spinning me into his embrace.

"Why so quick to leave, wife?" he rested his chin on my head wrapping his arms around me. "Achlys.." I protested attempting to push his chest off mine.

He hummed, closing his eyes with a small smile.

His embrace was warm unlike mine. It didn't seem like he was going to let go any time soon. I didn't give up, but I stopped fighting letting out a breath of air.

He had let go soon after. I had nodded to him before leaving.

The journey back to my estate seemed to be be long. Most likely because I was tired.

I immediately went into my bedroom dropping down on the bed, falling in deep slumber as soon as my head hit the pillow.

-

A whiff of wind had passed Arya black mist, turning into a figure.

"My sweet Arya.. I will make sure this time not to lose you." Achlys' hand brushed her cheek lovingly, his pupils turning into slits, leaning down to her neck, opening his mouth slightly.

He flinched as Arya mumbled something in her sleep. He had come back to his senses, putting a hand over his mouth.

"Not yet..Not yet.." he held back his hand that was reaching to her.

"I will see you tomorrow, my Arya" He then disappeared in a black fog.

-

"Sister Arya" Kate had called out to me. I had turned away from the roses i was trimming. She held her nonchalant look on her face.

Her brunette hair was put up in a tight bun, and had dusks of freckles on her face and her hazel eyes half lidded.

I nodded to her, giving a small smile. "Kate," I had pulled down the rose on a nearby table.

"You never attended prayer last night. What happened?" Her eyes where blazing in mine searching for an answer. Of course, I couldn't just say I was with a man.

I replied calmly despite my heart pounding rapidly. "I had business to attend to. My apologies, Kate."

She had kept quiet for a while, turning to gaze at the roses. "I see."

Something had told me she didn't believe me. She continued to speak after a while.

"Pardon me if i'm wrong, but I would like to make sure i'm just misunderstanding, sister Arya."

She is most definitely going to talk about Achlys and I. I had panicked, but kept on a calm facade.

"You hate roses, do you not?" She had touched the soft petals on the rose. I was caught by surprise by her question.

"Ah, that is true...I just decided to appreciate their beauty more." I smiled gazing at the garden.

"Is that so." she murmured. She then had turned to me.

"I will see you, sister Arya. Please don't forget about prayer. Also, I had put paperwork on your desk while you where absent."

My shoulders instantly dropped. When ever she got me paperwork it would always be as high as the roof, and it would be the following morning by the time I finish.

"I see, thank you Kate." I gave a tired smile.

She had nodded leaving to the garden. I was quite revealed she didn't ask about Achlys and I. Though I could already tell she heard the rumors.

She probably didn't want to put me in a difficulty situation. She was quite dull, but showed kindness in her own way.,

Achlys not being here had made me clear my thoughts. I let out a breath of air.

"dearest Arya" a familiar voice had called out singing.

Speak of the devil. I paled

"You..! what are you doing here?" I pointed at him with a frown.

He only smiled taking my hand in his and blushing his lips over. I had snatched it away, ignoring the heat that cheeped up my face in embarrassment.

"Wife, I was thinking we should go out for a treat today..what do you think?"

I slammed down the scissors harshly. "Achlys. Go away.." I moaned strolling to my office, him following behind me.

"You always have things on your plate dearest why-"

"Sister Arya." I flinched hearing a familiar voice.

Both of our heads had turned to the side. "Martyr.. how may I help you?" I smiled calmly.

He was a kind man only a year my senior. He was usually self reserved but always showed respect to those higher than himself.

He glanced at Achlys. Then back to me. He seemed to hesitate before starting to speak.

"Will you be attending tonight's prayer? I could not find you yesterday."

"..Yes, I will.. I just had some business to attend to.. my apologies Martyr." He gave me a small smile.

"That is alright... who is this..?" he asked gesturing to Achlys beside me.

"Ah...that is..Achlys..my.." I thought for a moment trying not to think of a lie.

"friend.." I gritted, eye jerking.

He had nodded to Achlys, which he seemed to pay no mind to the greeting.

"Nice to meet you...Sir..."

"Just Achlys would do." He replied coldly which I had glared at him for.

"Then.." Matyr had then let not before bowing, and sharing a glance to Achlys which he seemed to be suspicious of.

I had watched him walk of before letting out a breath of relief.

"Wife, do you only think of me as a companion?"

I frowned ignoring his question.

"..I will be at my office. I won't be out until noon." I informed him.

"Then I will see you in a few hours, my wife. Please do not tire yourself out"

"..."

I only lifted my hand in acknowledgment
