Capítulo 137: MD-Chapter 137 Mind Control!!

Star-Lord had a hidden workshop on the spaceship.

Inside his room, he had dug through the floor to create a small tunnel that led to a spacious area he had set up as a workspace. The room was filled with some seemingly old, but undoubtedly functional equipment used to make various items he needed.

After showing Arthur around the small workshop, Star-Lord began to work.

Arthur watched for a while as Star-Lord explained the various principles of the modifications, some of which were completely unfamiliar to Arthur.

Many of the tiny but intricate things even involved theories of space folding.

Overall, Star-Lord's explanations to Arthur boiled down to... blah blah blah...

The knowledge gap was so vast that even trying to grasp it vaguely was difficult to digest.

Not understanding much, Arthur decided to Disassemble the weapons and armor he had just acquired from the junk pile.

When he looked into the Disassembly Space, Arthur was stunned.

With a thought, he released a towering, ten-foot-tall behemoth in the room!

Star-Lord, showing off in front of Arthur, nearly popped his eyes out at the sight: "Seriously, can we talk about things without you scaring the shit out me like this?"

Arthur ignored him and carefully examined the... Abomination? It should be Abomination!

He remembered that during the 'dream flight' of the Tesseract, he had repeatedly collided with a huge creature and, in a fit of frustration, had stored it in the Disassembler Space.

It seemed that this was the creature before him now.

After the first experiment, the Abomination hadn't changed much in size - it was still very tall and large. Its herniated disc had healed, and except for its size, it looked quite normal.

But after the second experiment, how had it suddenly become like this?

The Abomination in front of him was about three and a half meters tall, and the current space couldn't accommodate it standing up. It was curled up on the ground, with its large eyes wide open but lacking any spark, and drool was still hanging down his mouth a half-foot long.

"The intelligence remains unchanged...but what's going on?"

Arthur reached out to touch its skin, which was no longer the color of a normal human.

It was a light gray, with a thick layer of rough texture on every inch, giving it a very hard appearance!

Arthur decided to test it with a military knife and found it to be like stabbing Iron wall!

"What's going on here? Isn't this your work?"

Seeing Arthur's reaction, Star-Lord finally couldn't hold back and said, "Dude, are you really from Earth? Is human life so harsh now?"

"..."

Arthur glanced at Star-Lord and said, "Focus on your work."

Star-Lord yelled with wide eyes, "Fine, fine, no need to get upset about it!"

"..."

Arthur really wanted to curse right now, but he was in no mood.

Helplessly, he shifted his gaze away from Star-Lord and looked at the large creature.

"Calling you an idiot seems appropriate; now that you've turned into Iron Man?"

He sighed again, "And besides, at least the original looks cuter than you. What good are you now?"

The creature didn't answer, just moved its eyes along Arthur's hand and kept a dazed expression.

Arthur sat on the floor staring at the Abomination, while Star-Lord looked up after a while and then continued his work, though his mouth was still busy: "If it weren't for the size difference, I'd think you two were involved in something."

Arthur remained silent and pulled out a pistol, placing it next to him.

Star-Lord immediately fell silent, not saying a word.

After enjoying a bit of silence, Arthur found himself in a state of inner conflict.

But it wasn't long before he reached out a finger, bit into it to draw blood, and touched the Abomination's chest with it: "Let's give it a try."

He was going to use Mind Control!

The results of the previous two experiments had been increasingly disastrous, leaving Arthur in a state of near despair.

Now, he was in space, within the Marvel universe, which was fraught with danger.

If he was lucky, he would meet Yondu and Star-Lord. But if his luck ran out, running into Thanos would be quite a predicament!

Aside from Thanos' current strength, even his minions, the Black Order, were no match for an ordinary person. Arthur knew he had no chance against them right now.

So it was better to postpone further experiments until he returned to Earth. For now, he needed to hone his own skills.

The Abomination's current state reminded Arthur of the rather useless skill of Mind Control he had previously acquired by tapping on books.

As for whether he met the first criterion for using Mind Control... voluntarily!

It all depended on Arthur's attempt.

---

As if everything was instinctively imprinted in his bones, Arthur manipulated the colorless energy while using his blood to draw a complex circular symbol on the Abomination's chest.

The symbols within were intricate and appeared extremely mysterious.

As the final stroke was completed, Arthur murmured, "Into the darkest darkness, surge of pulsing tides, overlook the crimson pale..."

With each phrase, the runes etched into the Abomination's chest began to glow faintly.

Each symbol began to spin rapidly, and as Arthur finished, "...Open your eyes!"

As the words were spoken, the light on the Abomination's chest blazed, and then the red runes formed a net that enveloped the entire body of the Abomination. The net was as thick as silk and as crimson as blood, formed from coagulated blood.

Within the net, the Abomination made no attempt to struggle. Once its entire body was covered, all the red threads transformed into thousands of knots and were drawn into the Abomination's body.

Simultaneously, a red 'thread' extended from the Abomination's chest to Arthur's hand.

Arthur extended his palm, and as soon as the 'red thread' touched his hand, it dissipated.

However, in his palm remained a blood-red dot, like a… vermilion mole.

Arthur pondered for a while, feeling that this was quite awkward!

Yet at the same time, he had a strange sensation that as long as he thought about it, the giant in front of him could act according to his will.

"Come on, lets shake hands!"

Arthur extended his hand.

"Come on, let's shake hands!" Arthur held out his hand to the Abomination.

The Abomination's massive hand immediately reached out, and Arthur shook Abomination's fingers and nodded in satisfaction.

"My grandfather used to train dogs like that." Star-Lord looked up from his work and chimed in.

Arthur's mouth twitched as he thought - seriously, can't you just stay out of this?

He had been so focused that he had forgotten about this guy. Should he shut him up?

Arthur shot a dark look at Star-Lord, who met his gaze and grinned, "So, has this big guy been controlled?"

"Mm-hm."

Arthur nodded. "I used black magic to control it."

"Impressive. Are you a Sorcerer?" Star-Lord asked. "Did the previous spell involve space magic? Teleportation? And you also use weapons, so are you a weapon wielding Sorcerer?"

Arthur suddenly found the question difficult to answer. How did a weapon-wielding sorcerer come into the picture?

Seriously, a weapon-wielding sorcerer? Why not just say I'm a weapons expert?

And this guy, seeing what just happened, wasn't he worried at all?

"Aren't you worried that I might use that trick on you?" Arthur asked, looking at Star-Lord.

"Aren't we on the same team?" Star-Lord looked at Arthur in disbelief and blinked. "Hey, I'm still making equipment for you! And you think you can use that terrible black magic on me?"

"Isn't it normal to be worried about that?" Arthur blinked. "Did you never suspect I might use it on you?"

"Before you said that, I had no doubt at all!"

Star-Lord stared wide-eyed. "Hey, you can't be serious! We're Companions!"

Companions my ass!

You're not Luffy with a straw hat or some orange-haired punk with a big sword, slashing monsters everywhere. What's with all this companion stuff?

If you can make a marbled rice ball, then maybe I will consider what you said!

Arthur mentally tsukkomi-ed, finally sighing in defeat. "You really should be thanking Yondu for keeping you alive."

"Huh?"

Star-Lord looked at Arthur in confusion.

"This is a long job. It requires extreme precision!"

Star-Lord looked at his work and said. "It will take at least three days."

Giving up on the idea of silencing him, Arthur got up to put the Abomination away and said to Star-Lord, "I'll leave you to it and wait for you to finish."

"Don't you want to stay here and chat? To be honest, I'm kind of curious about Earth now."

Star-Lord said, "It's been over twenty years since I left home. What's Earth like now? Do people use teleportation to get to work, and do they leave their luggage... um, somewhere? And is there still a survival crisis, with giant monsters like the one you unleashed? Do they roam outside human cities with big sticks, roaring and threatening our survival space?"

Arthur suddenly felt that the reason this guy could accept his control over the Abomination so calmly was because he didn't even see the Abomination as a person!

After thinking for a moment, Arthur said seriously, "It's a shame you're wasting your time here making masks. You should be writing novels..."

"Hey, have you looked at my diary? Let me tell you, 'Peter Quill's Cosmic Adventure' is my creation!"

Arthur, who was climbing out, almost fell when he heard this. With a black face and a look of resignation, he went back into Star-Lord's room and covered the entrance.

---

...

...

Over the next few days, Arthur gradually adjusted to the routine aboard the spaceship.

The ship had no real rules. When they weren't doing anything, the crew got together to drink and talk. If they drank too much, they'd want to fight, and when they got tired of fighting, they'd just find a place to crash and sleep.

As the newcomer, Arthur was the center of attention at first. Despite Yondu's high regard for him, not everyone in the crew was impressed.

At first, whenever Arthur came out, the crew eagerly tried to get him drunk.

The drink was of a peculiar taste and was extremely potent, with a horrible flavor.

However, Arthur had a special constitution, so alcohol had no real effect on him.

When they realized that alcohol wouldn't do the trick, they decided to use their fists...

It was hard to describe how pathetic it was. With his steel-like strength, Arthur caused the entire ship's crew to flee in terror.

This was also a great opportunity for Arthur. Since he had acquired so many skill books and crystal fragments in the modern society, he hadn't really fought anyone.

Since the battle with the lizard, he hadn't even fought a small-time thug. He was never quite sure of his own strength.

Beating the entire crew into submission gave Arthur a rough understanding of his own abilities.

And then he began to enjoy this new activity.

As the Raiders became less "enthusiastic," Arthur became more excited.

He would often seek out people to drink with and, after drinking, look for a fight. He would not stop until he had beaten up a few.

Eventually, the crew decided to stop drinking with Arthur, which made him even happier. He used the excuse, "You're disrespecting me by not drinking," to give them a taste of his righteous Iron Fist!

Yondu turned a blind eye to all of this; as long as no one got killed, he didn't care.

In fact, during the long voyage, drinking and fighting helped the crew release their pent-up energy. Holding it in could lead to trouble.

Of course, Arthur didn't seek out fights every day.

Late at night, he would go to the storehouse to find items to dismantle.

This place was definitely a treasure trove. Although at first glance it was filled with broken weapons and such, what was hidden inside was far more interesting.

For example, Arthur found a stone with writing he couldn't make out.

When he picked it up, the Disassembler immediately displayed a prompt:

[Disassemble mysterious item (Purple)?]

Arthur didn't disassemble it at that moment but stored it in the Disassembler space, planning to sort through it later. He wanted to make sure he hadn't missed any treasures in the warehouse before doing a full disassembly.

The reason for this was to avoid accelerating the accumulation of Disassembler experience too quickly.

If he ended up disassembling something not-so-good and missed out on valuable items, and the Disassembler leveled up... that would be quite embarrassing.

Three days later, Star-Lord, who had barely emerged from his workshop, came to find Arthur, looking exhausted with dark circles under his eyes. "Here, take this!"

He handed Arthur a small device resembling a headset.

Arthur took it and asked, puzzled, "What about my mask?"
