"She'll be fine." He reassured Iris's friends, "I can heal her physical wounds, but the emotional distress the punishment has caused may take time to heal."

Amelia and Chrysanthe nodded, grateful for Killian's abilities but understanding that some wounds run deeper than the physical. And for Iris to receive that kind of divine punishment for the next 500 years was a heavy burden. They knew that even with Killian's healing powers, it would take time for Iri to overcome the effects of the punishment she had to endure.

"I'll stay with her for a while. You may retire for the night," Killian offered, sensing their concern. "Make use of this time to consider what I asked you later. We don't have much time as the war is about to start."

Amelia and Chrysanthe shared a knowing look and nodded. They silently slipped out of the room, leaving their best friend in Killian's care.
