When Iris regained consciousness, she found Killian next to her bedside. He closed the book he was reading and looked at her as she slowly sat up and cradled her head with one hand.
"What happened?" Iris asked, her voice filled with confusion and concern. She wasn't surprised to see him in her quarters. She would have thrown a fit on it if it were that past.
Killian had been by her side since the day she became a demon. Though his presence still annoyed the hell out of her, Iris had to admit that he had become her confidant and protector.
"You pass out after the punishment. I already healed your wound, but are you still in pain?"
Iris shook her head. "No, I'm fine. If I weren't a demon and were still a human, I would have died from it."
Killian chuckled softly, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Well, lucky for you, you're not a mere human anymore. Being a demon has its perks, doesn't it?"
Iris frowned, her brows furrowing.
