"Attention!"
"Yes, my lord!"
Fifteen thousand soldiers, around fifteen years old, stood in formation in a square as snow lightly fell on them. Each one was the result of Haldor's training and his attention to detail.
The only regret he had was that these children couldn't experience their childhood like many others, but he would ensure that the future children of these soldiers would have the opportunity to enjoy their youth.
"Glory to humanity!" Haldor placed his hand on his chest as he gave this military salute.
All the warriors in the field, who had been waiting, saluted back, "Glory to humanity!"
Haldor assumed that everyone understood the weight of their responsibility, so he said, "It hasn't been easy for anyone to live in times of war. Most of us have lost something or someone. If you are here, it's because you haven't lost the will to keep fighting or to seek revenge."
Clang!
Everyone watched as Haldor unsheathed his sword. He looked at them all fiercely and shouted, "Young warriors, today the greatest challenge of our lives stands before us."
The ground trembled at these words, the mist in the sky that protected the surroundings from any attack stirred, and everyone felt nervous.
"In these turbulent times, our swords not only defend our homes but also the future that awaits us. At fifteen years old, many may doubt our abilities, but remember that bravery knows no age."
"History does not remember names, surnames, or races. Time will only record in the history books the banner of those who have risen in arms against the demons."
Haldor paused, lowered his sword, and shouted, "On your shoulders rests the weight of forging a new tomorrow. Every strike and every sacrifice will be another stone on the path to peace and freedom. Always remember that the strength of the heart surpasses that of steel."
"In this battle, unity is our greatest strength. As brothers in arms, we must support one another, trust in our abilities, and defend our ideals with honor and dignity."
"Look around and see in the eyes of your comrades the reflection of your own courage. Together, we are invincible. Together, we can change the course of history."
"Let your bravery inspire future generations. Let your determination be a beacon of hope in the darkest moments. Always remember that you are the architects of the new world, and in your hands lies the destiny of our land."
"Forward, young warriors! Let your swords shine with the light of justice and your hearts burn with the fire of freedom! For a better tomorrow, for a world where everyone can live in peace and harmony!"
"Attention, Night's Watch!"
"Yes!"
"Present your swords to the future!"
Everyone unsheathed their true swords, those that had been promised to them and were special because they were infused with magic.
"Exterminate the demons!"
"Yes, my lord!"
"You will kill every last demon!"
"Yes, my lord!"
"Then come forward and give me your oath," Haldor shouted, looking at the soldiers who would now become part of the main army of the city, his principal territory.
At that moment, a young man stepped forward and kneeled on one knee. Presenting his sword to Haldor with both hands, he said in a proud tone, "I am the watcher on the borders. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, and the shield that defends the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch for this night and all nights to come."
"I expect the best from you!" Haldor extended his hand and gave this soldier a necklace with a thunder symbol. It was a magical item that could unleash a powerful attack spell only once.
"I will use it wisely."
"Next!"
"My lord…"
One by one, everyone took their oath. From today onwards, they would accompany the mercenaries who were part of the Night's Watch, who were also accompanied by the descendants of warriors who had fought with Haldor over thirty years ago.
Everyone knew that the largest city on the northern coast was growing in strength. Its soldiers currently number twenty thousand, a significant force to reckon with considering the state of the North.
