Capítulo 50: Chapter 48

'So, this is what the Room of Requirements can do.'

I was looking at the neatly stacked rows upon rows of books. Along with all the books in Hogwarts library, and the books that were lost in the castle over the years, together it was 78 million books.

'Knowledge is power, sure. But this too much knowledge. I doubt I can read even half of them in a lifetime. Fuck, even Nicholar Flamel won't be able to read them with his stone to increase his lifespan.'

I sat there, stumped over what I should be doing with so many books.

'I need to prioritize. From Aberforth's memories, he didn't pay much attention to the intricacies of magic. What I need right now is theoretical knowledge. Only when I know the theory can I apply it in practice the right way. I'm not going to experiment with a reality bending power without knowing everything about it.'

The books in front of me disappeared and were replaced by a cabinet stacked with books. And all of them turned out to be on theoretical magic.

'This will take quite a while.'

"Hey, Abe! We're going to Hogsmeade! Do you want to come along?"

"Sure. I need to buy some quills."

Winter had arrived, and with it came Christmas. It was a time for children to be with their families. I had managed to acclimate myself with my new reality. I still terribly missed my family on some lonely nights, but so far, it had been smooth sailing.

There were barely any students of significance to the plot during my time at Hogwarts. There were no Blacks, Lestranges, Potters, or Weasleys. I could quietly focus on my goals of attaining power without having to face any spoilt heirs and snotty brats.

Interestingly, Aberforth was friends with Arthur Dagworth and Gerard Wood, the latter being a Quiddich nutt while the former was seemingly unremarkable and was set to inherit his father's business of selling potion ingredients.

Meanwhile, I would either spend my days reading or asking doubts from the professors. It was quite a shift from the original Aberforth and I was even questioned by the headmaster. No doubt he wanted to see if I was an imposter.

While trying to understand magic, I also delved into the study of ancient runes and arithmancy. This study of runes and numbers led me to understand the workings of magic.

Magic was like a code that presented itself in various ways. One could interpret and use it with patterns, scripts and arrays, or through the power of thought and intent. Certain patterns and scripts could be vocalised which, when facilitated by intent, allowed the magicals to use magic.

Magic could influence and alter the code of the universe, thus bending reality to the user's whim. It was present everywhere, but it needed a conduit to be able to influence the universe. And that conduit was a wizard's intent.

Thus, intent was the catalyst of magic and was the limiting factor in its utilization.

My next step was to learn what magic exactly did to the universal code for it to be altered in such bizarre ways.

'Magic... is fascinating.'

I aced my OWL exams and even aced in Ancient runes and Arithmancy which I had taken as additional exams. Suffice to say that I had become a huge nerd.

That did not mean I neglected my physical health. While I wasn't training like I did as Allan Curran, I did maintain a routine of plysical activities, even if it was so that I could eat whatever I wanted to my heart's content.

I did not try to make contact with Albus, and neither did he. As a matter of fact, he wasn't even in my thoughts. I knew that he was galavanting through France with Nicholas Flamel, perhaps already forgetting that his former boyfriend was still planning for world domination.

As the term came to an end, I returned to Godric's Hollow, back to the lonely and dusty house. 'I need to get a house-elf. But, how?'

'Uhm... Are there any free house-elves that want a home?'

*Snap*

"Arty! Arty! Arty's be wanting a new home!"

'... Huh, that's convenient.'

(ACJTF)

Arty's arrival truly eased my stay in the house. The little critter was overzealous in his approach to serving me as his master. The entire house was spotless, the food he cooked was absolutely delicious, and the garden had never looked so pretty.

It was like having a wife, without the intimacy and the arguments.

As I was still a minor, I couldn't do much to earn money. So, I sold some cheap jewelry I'd found in the Room of Requirements at pawn shops. There wasn't much to begin with and most of the jewelry was cursed. I could salvage the bare minimum.

It was mostly broken furniture, broken sculptures, destroyed paintings, rusted armor sets, lots of books, rusted and cursed daggers, some potions and ingredients, and a lot of other miscellaneous items.

Overall, while many of them were of value, most of them were of no use to me at the moment. All I had were gold dragons and silver stags from the time I was Allan Curran. I didn't even know if they were pure gold and silver. I needed to look like a grown up to visit a goldsmith and determine their authenticity. And for that to happen, I needed to grow a glorious beard and a 'stash.

On the other hand, my decision to focus on theory did wonders to my proficiency in magic. Instead of killing people and animals, I gained experience from doing my class work and learning magic. It was different, and not unwelcome.

A/N: I'm hella busy. I need a good rank to get a branch of my choice in a good hospital. So I need to study a lot. I can't afford to spent too much time on a hobby. Career comes before hobby.

This will be the update trend for the foreseeable future. Take it of leave it.

It is what it is.
