Capítulo 67: Chapter 67: The Great Convenience Store Debate

The progress of the new city was unmistakable. Roads had been paved, and the basic amenities had started to take shape—a convenience store, a small clinic, and a public water supply system. The hum of construction machines filled the air as they tirelessly worked on building structures and maintaining the infrastructure. The workers were always busy, but the progress they made was more than worth the effort.

Satoshi was standing outside the half-built convenience store, checking on the progress. The store was important to him, not just because it was a vital step in creating a livable city, but because it reminded him of home—of the life he had before he transmigrated to Teyvat. It was his personal touch, and he wanted to make sure everything was just right.

Paimon floated beside him, looking at the blueprints Satoshi held. "So, Satoshi, what kind of things are you going to put in the store? Paimon hopes there'll be snacks! Lots of snacks!"

Satoshi laughed. "Of course, Paimon. There'll be plenty of snacks. But we also need to make sure we stock the essentials—food, supplies, and things people need for everyday living. It has to be convenient, after all."

Paimon nodded, her eyes sparkling. "Paimon thinks everyone will love it! Especially if there are sweets and drinks. Paimon bets Lumine will want to come here all the time too!"

Just as Paimon finished speaking, Lumine walked up, her expression curious as she glanced at the construction work. "Hey, Satoshi, Paimon. How's everything coming along?"

Satoshi smiled at her. "Hey, Lumine. We're just going over the plans for the convenience store. It's almost done, but we still need to figure out exactly what we're going to stock. Kaeya's handling the logistics, but I want to make sure we have everything people might need."

Lumine nodded, her eyes scanning the construction site. "It's amazing how far things have come. When I first heard about building a new city, I didn't think it would be possible so quickly. You've really made a difference here, Satoshi."

Paimon floated up, looking pleased. "That's right! Satoshi's doing an amazing job, and Paimon is helping too!"

Satoshi chuckled. "Thanks, Lumine. And thanks, Paimon. But it's not just me—it's everyone. Without the workers, the alchemists, the support from Mondstadt, and all of you, none of this would have been possible."

---

As they spoke, Kaeya approached, holding a clipboard and looking as relaxed as ever. "Talking about me behind my back, are we?" he teased, raising an eyebrow. "If you're talking about the store, I hope you know that I've been working tirelessly to secure the best supplies for it."

Lumine grinned. "Kaeya, working tirelessly? That's hard to imagine."

Kaeya feigned a hurt expression, putting a hand over his heart. "You wound me, Lumine. I've been putting my charm to good use, convincing the merchants to supply us with only the best."

Satoshi shook his head, amused. "Alright, alright. So, what's the status on the store supplies?"

Kaeya flipped through his notes. "We've got most of the essentials covered—food, drinks, household items, and even some entertainment for the workers. And, of course, plenty of snacks for our dear Paimon." He gave Paimon a wink.

Paimon clapped her hands in delight. "Yay! Paimon knew you wouldn't forget!"

Kaeya nodded. "But there is one issue we need to discuss. The merchants are asking for payments upfront, and we need more Mora to cover the costs. We could try to negotiate, but the budget is already tight."

Satoshi frowned, thinking. The system allowed him to buy raw materials directly, but it required Mora, and their budget was already being stretched thin with all the ongoing projects. They needed to find a way to generate more income.

Lumine tilted her head. "What if we set up a small market day? People from Mondstadt and the workers here could sell items, crafts, or food. It could be a good way to bring in some Mora, and it would help build a sense of community."

Satoshi's eyes lit up. "That's actually a great idea, Lumine. A market day would not only help us raise funds, but it would also bring people together. It could be a celebration of sorts—a way to show how far we've come."

Kaeya grinned. "I like it. A day of fun, food, and commerce. Count me in."

Paimon floated higher, her eyes wide with excitement. "Paimon loves this idea! There could be games, food stalls, and maybe even music! It would be so much fun!"

Satoshi nodded, feeling a sense of renewed energy. "Alright, let's make it happen. We'll organize a market day—a celebration for everyone. We'll need to plan out the details, but I think it'll be just what we need."

---

The next few days were a whirlwind of activity as preparations for the market day began. Word spread quickly, and soon enough, people from Mondstadt and workers from the construction site were all talking about it. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and everyone pitched in to help with the preparations.

Amber and Bennett were put in charge of organizing the games and activities. Amber, with her endless energy, was thrilled at the idea of setting up archery contests and obstacle courses for everyone to enjoy. Bennett, though a little worried about his usual bad luck, was determined to make sure everything went off without a hitch.

"We could set up an archery range over there," Amber said, pointing to an open space near the plaza. "And maybe a few simple games, like ring toss or a dart board. Something everyone can participate in."

Bennett nodded enthusiastically. "And we could even have a small treasure hunt! I think people would really enjoy that."

Amber smiled. "Great idea, Bennett! Let's make this market day one to remember."

---

Elsewhere, Lisa and Sucrose were working on setting up a stall to sell potions and herbal remedies. Lisa's laid-back demeanor contrasted with Sucrose's nervous energy, but the two made a good team. They prepared various potions that could help with everything from fatigue to minor injuries, and they planned to give demonstrations to show people how the potions worked.

"It's important to make sure everyone knows how to use these properly," Lisa said, arranging the bottles neatly. "We want people to be safe, after all."

Sucrose nodded, adjusting her glasses. "Y-Yes, of course. I'll make sure to explain everything clearly. And, um, maybe we could even offer a small discount for workers. It might help them stay healthy while they work on the city."

Lisa smiled. "A wonderful idea, Sucrose. Let's make sure we take care of everyone."

---

Lumine and Noelle were put in charge of decorations, ensuring that the city looked its best for the big day. Noelle, ever diligent, worked tirelessly to set up banners, arrange flowers, and make sure everything was perfectly organized. Lumine helped where she could, enjoying the opportunity to add some creative touches to the city.

"I think these lanterns will look lovely once it gets dark," Noelle said, hanging a string of lanterns along the main pathway. "It'll make everything feel more festive."

Lumine smiled, holding up a garland of flowers. "And these will add some color. It's amazing how much the city has changed already. I can't wait to see it filled with people enjoying themselves."

Noelle nodded, her eyes shining with pride. "It really is incredible. I never thought I'd be part of something like this."

---

Finally, the day of the market arrived. The sun shone brightly, and the air was filled with the sound of laughter and music. Stalls lined the streets, selling everything from food and drinks to crafts and trinkets. People from Mondstadt had come out in droves, eager to see the new city and enjoy the festivities.

The convenience store, though not fully stocked yet, had its doors open, allowing people to take a look inside. Kaeya stood by the entrance, greeting visitors and making sure everything ran smoothly. He even managed to sell a few items, much to Paimon's delight.

"Look at all the people!" Paimon said, her eyes wide as she floated above the crowd. "Everyone's having such a great time! Paimon thinks this was the best idea ever!"

Satoshi stood in the middle of the plaza, taking it all in. The market day had been a success—people were smiling, enjoying the games, buying goods, and connecting with each other. It was exactly what he had hoped for—a way to bring people together and make the city feel like a real community.

Lumine walked up to him, a smile on her face. "Looks like everything's going well. You did it, Satoshi. You're really making this place into something special."

Satoshi smiled, his heart full. "It's not just me. It's everyone—you, Paimon, Kaeya, Noelle, Amber, Bennett, Lisa, Sucrose—everyone has played a part in making this happen. This city is a team effort."

Paimon floated down beside them, holding a skewer of grilled meat. "Paimon thinks we should celebrate with some food! There's so much to choose from—grilled fish, skewers, pastries... Paimon wants to try everything!"

Lumine laughed. "Alright, Paimon. Let's go see what we can find."

As they walked away, Paimon looked up at Satoshi, her eyes curious. "Hey, Satoshi, there's something Paimon has been wondering for a while now... How did you end up here in Teyvat, anyway? Paimon knows Lumine just kind of woke up here, but what about you?"

Satoshi paused for a moment, a wistful look crossing his face. "Well, it's a bit of a strange story. I was just going to a convenience store back in my world—just a normal day, really. And then, out of nowhere, I found myself here. I got a system called 'Infinite Infrastructure, Science, Technology, and Alchemist,' and it told me I had a mission to modernize Mondstadt and build a new city."

Paimon's eyes widened. "Whoa, you got isekai'd?! Just like that? And you got a system too? That's so cool! No wonder you've been able to do all of this."

Satoshi smiled. "It was definitely unexpected, but I've decided to make the most of it. I want to make life better for everyone here, and with the system's help, I think we can do it."

Paimon grinned. "Well, Paimon thinks you're doing an amazing job! And with Paimon and Lumine by your side, we're going to make this city the best in all of Teyvat!"

Lumine nodded. "That's right. We're in this together, Satoshi. Whatever challenges come our way, we'll face them as a team."

Satoshi felt a warmth spread through him as he looked at his friends. They were right—this was just the beginning, and with everyone working together, there was nothing they couldn't achieve.

As the sun began to set, the lanterns Noelle had hung lit up, casting a warm glow over the city. People gathered around the central plaza, enjoying the last moments of the day. Satoshi raised a glass of juice, his voice carrying over the crowd.

"To our city, and to the future we're building together!"

Cheers erupted, and Satoshi knew that, no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together—one step, one building, and one market day at a time.
