Capítulo 49: Chapter 49 Healing
Finally, we reached the Heartfilia mansion and knocked on the door, even though it was a large mansion it seemed silent, from what Zoldeo shouted out it seems like all the doctors that came were not able to cure her and had given their verdict.
After waiting for a few moments, a butler opened the door and came out
"Gentleman and Lady how may should I help you" (my aristocrat speaking is very bad)
The butler spoke professionally but I was able to see that he was distraught
I took out my ID that specified my guild rank and asked him to contact Jude Heartfilia and seeing his eyes widening slightly after seeing my Id I think he knows who I am
"I need to meet Jude Heartfilia, I might have a solution for his current troubles"
"yes sir please wait a few moments" the butler began to go back inside the mansion in a hurry and Cana and I began to wait for him.
Healing Layla Heartfilia was not a quest but the method to do it was the reward for another quest and since her problem is the loss of vitality the potion that the system has currently given me can be used to save her. Cana is thinking that the horse talisman is going to be used but it can't increase lifespan or magic exhaustion. So curing Layla will not give me any reward but might give a few achievements but even if the achievements were not there I would have come to cure her just for the sake of saving the person who sacrificed her life to save the dragon slayers.
Along with that now I might be able to stop a few of the future problems from happening
After a few moments we heard someone rushing through inside and the door opened. I saw Jude Heartfilia standing in front of me and his expression was highly distraught
"are you really Karna Vermillion" Jude asked
"yes sir I am" I gave my id and he checked it for its authenticity and after that he gave it back with a slight trembling hands
Then he asked
"can you save my wife" he asked and his voice showed how much he has been cornered because of finding no way to save his wife
"I am not a hundred percent till I meet your wife" I replied
"alright lets go" he didn't even wait after listening to my answer and was rushing to the top floors with his butler Cana and I had to increase our pace just so we could keep up with them
After walking a few flights of stairs, a few hallways and another few flights of stairs we managed to reach the room. The mansion is really really big, almost comical. After reaching a door Jude stopped and started straightening his hair and outfit. Inside I was able to hear a loud voice of a child, must be Lucy.
Jude knocked on the door and the voices inside the room stopped and a mature voice said to come in
As we opened the door we met with Layla Heartfilia who looked like Lucy in the anime but was a lot mature in a bed covered in bedsheets and the colour of her skin and the dark circles around her eyes showed how much of a weakened condition she was in because of using the eclipse gate without one key
And I saw Lucy as well she was there playing with a single doll with lots of dresses spread around the room. They have no idea about the amount of headache the doll would bring later on if ignored and my magic senses due to my magic being pure and closer to true magic is really high, I can already sense traces of magic forming in the doll and the chances of it already having a consciousness is very high. But that is not what I should focus on right now
"dear this is Karna Vermillion" Jude told my name to Layla
"oh, you seem more younger than the rumours it is very nice to meet you, I am Layla Heartfilia"
"And I am Lucy Heartfilia" Lucy seeing this introduced herself as well
"are you here to cure mommy" She asked
"well, we are here to try our best" I replied then I motioned towards Cana and she understood
"hey Kid, do you want to see some magic" Cana asked while using her cards to create a few lightshows attracting Lucy
She then took Lucy outside the room while showing her a few magic tricks and Jude motioned the butler to follow them as well
"thank you for the consideration, she has not been that cheerful nowadays due to my illness" Layla thanked me for taking Lucy away
"its alright" I said while I moved towards her and used magic scan just for making them believe that I am checking her condition
The scan showed she had low amounts of magic which keeps to be reducing, seems like a side effect of losing vitality
"she seems to have lost her vitality due to using a strong type of magic" I said to the couple
"every doctor who checked her had said this but they were not able to do anything about it, can you do something about it" Jude asked but his tone had expected a bit of disappointment like all the other times
"yes I think I can"
"its alright.....wait what did you say" both of their eyes went wide and Jude asked surprised
" the condition is critical but I have a potion that can cure her condition"
I said and I took out the potion from the system. According to the system this was called purified blood of a unicorn which can give lifespan to a person without giving out any adverse effects.
I then gave Layla the potion to drink, they both looked sceptical but still Layla drank the potion hoping it would cure her condition.
We waited for just a few moments and the potion already started showing its effects
Her skin regained a bit of her colour and her eye shadow began to disappear
"Jude my magic is recovering" Layla exclaimed happily
Jude then hugged Layla tightly while slightly crying with a smile.
I was standing there watching this while preparing for my next moves which will guarantee the stopping of many future problems.
