The dark Fae prince was terrifying, and Islinda did what any rational person would do in that situation - she ran. However, she didn't anticipate that this would turn into a full-blown chase, and Aldric was relentless in his pursuit.

Islinda wanted to scream, but her lungs were desperate for air and she lacked the strength to produce any sound. She also had no idea where she was running to; she just kept running, the staff members clearing a path once they understood what was happening.

Exhausted and frustrated, Islinda glanced back and noticed that Aldric was no longer behind her. Had she finally lost him? Thank goodness, her prayers had been answered. She then looked ahead, only to be shocked by what she saw. Aldric was blocking her path.
