Capítulo 419: Power and purpose

Arca lifted his chin and made a show of contemplating Cael's proposal.

"Hmm… I'm glad that you finally opened your eyes to the depth of my accomplishments. I am, indeed, an investigator with both luck and pluck on my side—and incredible intelligence as well. Even if it took a while, I dismantled that nest of spiders and took out that traitor to his kind who called himself Spezzian! Finding some thief will be a child's play to me."

Cael felt like he was looking at a trader on a market boasting about his wares. And like a savvy buyer would, Cael purposefully donned a bored expression.

He would like to peg Arca's arrogance down a notch. Despite their status as allies, the man and his hat still irked something inside of Cael.

"Oh, right! You were doing that, Santangelo." Cael waved his hand dismissively. "I don't see what's so spectacular in finding Spezzian if he dropped on your heads yourself. Besting him in a fight? Was he truly that powerful?"
