Maybe "fishing" was a more technically correct word, but for Cael, this really was a sea hunt. Hunt under the sea.
Niko's spell was called Air Bubble—very telling. It belonged to a second circle, and created a bubble of air around a person's head, which kept shape even underwater. It was limited by depth and was fairly fragile. The air inside, though, was fresh for as long as the user's mana allowed.
Learning the spell from only its words was always hard, but Cael had some knowledge of the Air school of magic, and shared it with Ginevra. She was a quick student—a brilliant one. Soon, Cael and Ginevra went not just for a swim in warm waves, but dived into the dark water below.
Cael used an Air Bubble too. Although he could breathe underwater thanks to the Blessing of the Ocean, he needed air to read spells. Despite his hidden fears, Air Bubbles didn't distort the surrounding view, but they muffled sound. Which was already muffled underwater, to be fair.
"Finally, it is done."
"But what did it cost, Garessta?"
*looks at win-win stats*
"Everything."
