By the time their journey brought them to the Commonwealth of the Rose, Finn was a broken man.

Vanya's affections were... intense. Just a few days on the rails was enough to remind him how much he missed her. The way she strongly told him exactly what she wanted or, well, demanded.

He consented to all of it, of course. One thing they'd established was firm boundaries and a safe word. It had been a couple of years since they last saw each other, so he couldn't remember it, but he was sure it would come up at some point.

In public, letting Vanya take the lead seemed the best course of action. He knew she was more than a little insecure about being affectionate, and so her cold mask and commanding demeanor covered up the fact that she was actually quite shy.
