Capítulo 99: Seriously
As if almost timed just as I finished my explanation the door to the house shattered. The mess of wood and noise was caused by Toph. "SOMEONE KIDNAPPED MY MOM!"
It took a second for everyone to process. Except Katara jumped to the answer first. "Who? Where? Are you okay?"
"Of course I'm okay. Except some earthbenders in robes and hates took her. They said they were arresting her for being a suspicious individual. I mean seriously how was my mom suspicious?"
I knew the answer to that actually, but I chose to ask a question instead of answer Toph's. "Why are you here, did you try to follow them?"
Toph blankly stared in my direction for a second before pointing. "You are the guy who bribed my dad!"
"Threatened actually, but that whole situation was very misunderstood. If you didn't run away like well not an Ea-" I stepped out of the way as Toph hurled a chunk of door debris at me.
"Yeah Whatever, I don't care. They got away by jumping around. Not like I can follow those in the air well."
Aang nodded, "She's right."
"Shut it Twinkle Toes! Now help me find my mom!"
Geez so demanding. I rolled my eyes and got up, as much as I could help. I didn't really want to, "She was likely taken to Lake Laogai, its a pretty suspicious place. Telling they don't let anyone build or fish there, I guess that they have some secret facility there."
Everyone brightened at my words and I prepared to leave. I felt a little awkward in this situation. Best to return to my people, aka the familiar horrible people. Toph grabbed my wrist with a lot of strength. I looked down at her. I looked at the blind girl and she said nothing.
So I spoke first, "What do you want gnome girl?"
"What do you think barrel head?"
I stared at her, then took a second. "What does that mean?"
Toph let go and shrugged, "Hell if I know I just couldn't come up with anything after Gnome Girl. Seriously though if my mom left home over a misunderstanding and led to her being kidnapped here. I am gonna sodomize you with broom handle."
Katara interrupted with a "She doesn't mean that, she just-"
I waved Katara off and shrugged, "She is a different kind of evil. I'll help, just meet meet me at the Lake."
Toph nodded, "Fine, but if you don't show up just remember I may be blind, but I will find you."
I shrugged and went on my way. I hadn't expected any of that, except I was happy with it. I was awkward with Aang due to my inability o take care of those younger then me. Specially with teaching oh god would that be a nightmare. I had to wonder how this turn of events would go though.
If we bust into Lake Laogai early would that null void the party later? I would have imagined the... Wait...
I just realized a serious problem in this. From what I knew of how this all went down. It would be a pretty simple he said she said. Oh here is the proof. Except thinking about this more accurately this is a whole different can of worms. My eyes widened a little as I started connecting dots.
I ran back to where me and the girls were staying and entered quickly. Only Mai was in the front living area and I turned to her. "How old this current Earth king of Ba sing se?"
"What?"
"This is important do you know his age?"
Mai raised an eyebrow, flipped a page in her book, and then finally answered. "He's 46 why?"
I snapped, "I knew it!"
Mai looked up at me, "Knew what Information did you know that you needed to ask me. Such a question?"
"A bit snippy today aren't we? Do you actually want to know or?"
"Oh I do actually, just-" Mai motioned around at the room. I then took it in, "What's with all the clothes?"
"Just one of the side effects of Azula's time of the month. I really don't get it."
I nodded, "Glad I took the heads up. Back to the my epiphany! You know those Dai Lee agents?"
Mai nodded, "Yeah, Ty Lee is watching them. What about them?"
"Well their boss is marrying the Earth king's daughter. Why would they do that?"
Mai raised an eyebrow, took a second and she got what I meant. "She isn't the earth kings real daughter."
I clapped, "Exactly! and guess what I just found out!"
Mai sighed, but played along getting into the curiosity. "What did you find out?"
"The Beifong girl, well she's here and her mom just got kidnapped. Why would that happen?"
Mai fell backwards, "ARGH! Oh my god I hate royalty." Mai leaned forward, "Okay why do you have this conspiracy and can I join?"
I nodded, "Hell yeah! Let's go find out if I am just being stupid. Or! Or! If I am being Illuminati secret society insane, my dear Miss Wattson!"
Mai looked at me in disappointment on that one. Not understanding a word of what I just said. "I vote on just insane. I'm bored though and that actually sounds like fun to find out."
"Nice!" Mai stopped, turned and put her finger to her lips. "Bet 1 week do whatever the other says."
I froze, This was more of a hair brained conspiracy I had come up with because I wanted drama. If it was actually true it would be incredible bullshit and cliche. On the other hand, It would be amazing!
"Fuck it, Deal." I had my doubts, but if I was going on the bases of ATLA lore. There was no way that the Earth Queen in Korra's time was the current Earth King's daughter. Since in the lore the bitch ate his bear. Not to mention she still having the use of the Dai Lee and the secret Laogai Tunnels. Which is the place where she tries to make her secret airbender assassin force at. Oh it was all coming together.
Not to mention the possibility of Princess Gnome! Oh, such dubious villainy! Such ways I can get into another girls pants!

I have problems. Might need to work those through when I train Aang on energy bending. Mai patted me on my back like she knew what I was thinking. "Let's go already so I can get a week of servitude out of you."
I took a second, "Hey wait! If I win you expect me to be to- Oh Such treachery!"
Mai looked at me and shook her head, "What is wrong with you?"
