This is one of the funniest series you'll find. MC is op, not just because of the absurd passive skills he gets, but by the very nature of his character. He proceeds make both friend and foe spit blood out of frustration, wether from his propensity to twist the truth, his uter lack of shame and humility, or because of the constant collateral damage he creates. definitely a must read. Only down side is that later chapters have a bit of a rough translation and need some polishing.
There is potential underneath....unfortunately, not only has the author almost forsaken the system in favor of classic cultivation, the novel also suffers from one of the most egregious machine translation quality I've ever seen. All the brilliant moment or satisfying plots are immediately drowned by either the MC doing dumb shit he promised himself he won't do again, or the translation killing whatever immersion you build up from before. 3/5, intriguing world, unique system, unfortunately, an ultimate pass, don't waste your time :(
I keep it real: I am a loyal reader, deep in the +2500 chapters, not because of a first love of this peak literature but because I brut force myself to read the first chapters becauce I gave a lot things in my life a chance when i shouldn’t. Then I keep reading ( and paying) because of my boy little beast Xu keep growing as cultivator and a person only to drop the ball again and again playing with my mind for weeks, keep trying to plot what’s going to happen only to be side blinded ( like every other guys in the room with my boy) by a guy who live the sentence “Never let them know your next move”. As i am know, while whaling on about everything on this app, reviewing a book for the first time, feeling like the biggest dumbo on the planet to keep paying for the chapters early instead of waiting for that f2p chap… Tell you all: worth it, absolute cinema, take my bow and my money.
Currently at C634, the novel is ok. Reminds me of one piece just slightly. The pacing is the only con however it makes sense as character development is key. I will be putting this novel on hold as it needs lots of spare time.
Im not one thats good at reviewing but I can say this, If you enjoy the tone of The Legendary Mechanic and the subtle humour then youll most likely enjoy this. I dont remember much about the earlier chapters but in regards to where Im at currently id consider this to be one of the best novels on this app and across the xianxia genre. All the characters seem feel very alive, no forced romance bs 10 chapters in, no bullshit misunderstanding trope where Mc cant talk and explain for some reason etc etc.

This novel is amazing but it is definitely not for everyone. The world background and character designs are outstanding, and the power system is especially to my liking as there aren't too many realms and the higher realms actually have meaningful differences instead of just punching harder. The pacing of the novel might be a problem for some, as some battles span over hundreds of chapters which sounds kinda crazy but when I read it it really wasn't bad. Overall, it is a great novel, just has a bit of a high barrier of entry. I've reread twice while waiting for chapter updates and am looking forward to binge reading it again once the novel is completed.

I like how the system works, especially when the MC draws to get a new passive skill it makes me curious as to what skill the MC will get next.
For those looking for a comedy cultivation novel, I highly recommend this novel, not only is it very funny to read but the storyline is also good, full of conspiracy and intrigue. (but I don't recommend it for those who prefer seriousness and don't like comedy because maybe you think the comedy in this novel is a bit forced and too scary to read)
Generally the novels start is weak, as it relies on slapstick comedy a lot, later on(after the windcloud competition) the comedy slowly advances and becomes smarter even though there is still a lot of physical comedy, even later on(after white cave) the comedy is phased out and the novel becomes more serious. Worldbuilding only really starts after he leaves the tiansang spirt palace the first time(before that there is basically only exposition into the powersystem, maybe some mysteries) but at least as far as I read (ch 2150) its solid enough that there aren't any plotholes that I noticed while reading. Most mayor characters get enough development that you can understand them. My only real negative point other than the weak start is that sometimes translation quality drops fo 10-20 chapters, also some drops are worse others barly noticeable but they always recover (again as far as I read, so around ch2150)
Hahahaaaa. Throughout my existence I have seen many treasures, and this is one of them. It is so much fun to read. Thank you author.
Pros: A fairly good system that does not take away from the story, No power creep, simple cultivation realms, MC doesn’t come from weakest city of weakest country of weakest region in the most desolate world, no “upper realm”, other characters are actually strong and talented, MC grows and learns throughout the story, a simple yet intricate power system, no faceslap, MC is not freakishly talented or overbearing, uses unorthodox powers, no harem or collecting trophy wives, scheming and scamming MC, not too many random techniques, no bs power ups, every ability we see is eventually explained and part of a character skill set, a lot of mystery, characters have a purpose and revelancy after hundreds of chapters. Cons: Abyss Island arc lasts about 1000 chapters, even disregarding Dongwantian City. Mc sometimes acts brainless. First arc is tournament and dragged out. Bazhunan is an ever moving goalpost who seems to inexplicably be Holy Emperor level (peak of current known cultivation levels) If you can stomach the first 200 chapters, I would read it.
MC is not funny at all. He is just annoying. It seems like the author tries too hard to make it funny, yet fails miserably.
Current chapter: 2030 I think.My biggest gripe is that the MC has been in the same area for over 800 chapters. Filler content every chapter, but still mostly engaging. I will continue to read, but mostly in spite since I've come so far and want to know how this story ends. Unfortunately at this rate it will probably be at least another one to two thousand chapters.This book would get five stars if not for the constant fillers and the random patches of poor translation that appear every now and then.

This novel could’ve been much better, however, this is just another author who wrote a novel with a brain dead MC and tried to pass his stupidity off as comedy. Very poor attempt at being funny. Sadly it ruined the novel. The other issue was the fights. Yeah it’s an attempt at writing a comedy novel, but the fights are the worst I’ve ever seen. The author doesn’t know how to create a balance between seriousness and his terrible sense of humor. I have no idea how this even has a 3.9 rating.
Where is chapter 121? A chapter is missing, in raw novel, there was another chaptet Between 120 - 121.
I love my man XXS, my only hope is that he ends up with the pearl eyed girl. I love his junior sister but I just feel like he's got more chemistry with YZ

I love this novel so much, it’s definitely one of my top five favourites as the characters are interesting and world building is nice. Things are actually foreshadowed and you can guess what’s going to happen. It starts out as a comedic system novel but the system is not the focus of the novel, it’s the characters and the story. Even the minor enemies are developed well like that woman who wanted to kill him in the tiansang palace. One thing I have to say though is the translation.. uhh in quite a few chapters sometimes names of things are sometimes translated differently and weirdly.. like “Heart Devil Sword technique” out of nowhere became “Demons under eyes” and Xiao Wangfeng being xiao eveningwood.. there are still chapters that are translated poorly even after a year.
those who have read untill 1800 chaps please tell me will the translation get better or will it remain the same and when will it improve.
I have been following this from the very beginning, and I can now confidently say: even though the translation quality is quite shitty at times, if you push through those small patches of shitty quality, the rest will be rewarding. Like, wow, this is one of my all time favs, and I've been reading this for YEARS. No other novel has received my dedication, so believe me when I say: it will all be worth it in the end. Really. Try it first. A few hundred chaps should hook you right in, and you will - never- wish for this to end.
