Capítulo 14: Everyone's agony
"Why the hell is this happening to us?" Yuki said sadly and weakly as she held and hugged Zebby, who innocently looked at them.
Everyone is calm and quiet yet really afraid in a lot of ways in their current state. Deiji is still unconscious in Daisy's room. Bianca is sleeping in one of the Guest rooms after she faints, and Michael is confined in another guest room.
"Is Michael going to turn too?" Michelle asked, trembling and dazed.
Glenn won't let Michelle stay by her twin side because it's dangerous. Even though he's sorry for Michelle, he can't let anything bad happen to her. And Glenn knows that this is also what Michael wants if he's conscious. They also tied Michael for extra protection.
No one answered her, which caused her to sob. Daisy and Myrna hugged her to comfort her. Everyone is sad about what happened to them.
"I'm sorry, Michelle." Glenn avoided eye contact with Michelle.
"No. It's not your fault. It's mine. He's so close to me and yet..." Michelle couldn't finish her sentence, so everyone comforted her.
"I don't understand why Carlo had to do that to Deiji." Christ suddenly spoke up.
"As far as I remember, if I'm not mistaken. He's so kind and has a lot of patience." He added.
"He has bipolar disorder." Everyone was shocked when Bianca spoke from upstairs down to the stairs.
"Me and Deiji only know about it." She added.
Everyone fell silent upon hearing this. They couldn't believe they had someone with a mental illness with them, and they didn't even notice.
"In all times, why did he have to have an episode at that time? No offense, Bianca." Yuki said bitterly to Bianca. She's not quite happy about what happened to Deiji. Her room mate. Her little sister for her.
"It's been 3 days since he took his medicine. It's not surprising that anytime his disorder may appear." Bianca explained to them.
"Yeah, we're there. But why at that particular time?" Yuki grilled her, acting as one of the panelists defending a thesis, questioning Bianca.
Bianca hugged herself and looked away. She thought twice before answering Yuki's question.
"Carlo likes Deiji."
Everyone was shocked by what Bianca revealed to them.
"And I hated Deiji because of that. I love Carlo yet Deiji caught his attention." Tears welled up in Bianca's eyes as she remembered how her friendship with Deiji began to sour.
"But you two always... made love." Myrna hesitated.
"Well, we ended up together when I got him drunk, and you know what happened. So, until now, we're staying together. He's kind of a gentleman, you know." Bianca's face brightened up a bit as she recalled their shared experiences with Carlo.
Everyone was taken aback when they heard a loud noise from outside. They all quickly peeked to see what was happening.
A bunch of zombies were trying to force themselves to enter.
"Shit!" Glenn muttered when he saw a strong push from one of the zombies.
"The gate will be destroyed if this continues!" Daisy reminded them, the owner of the house they are currently staying in.
"Where did they come from?" Yuki asked furiously.
"There's no time to wonder. Grab anything that you can use for barricading." Glenn ordered and took action first.
Everyone followed him and grabbed anything they could to help Glenn make the barricade.
"This won't last. We need to move out soon." Roy suggested.
Glenn knows Roy has a point. Even though they are tired of everything that's happening, they need to do everything to be safe.
"Noah?" Deiji weakly moved herself, but Noah stopped her.
"You okay? Anything hurt?" Noah asked anxiously.
She's wearing loose clothes and short shorts that almost reveal her groin.
"I'm not the one who changed your clothes!" Noah quickly said when he saw her glaring at him after realizing that her clothes had been changed.
"It was Yuki." He added to calm Deiji down.
"Whose clothes are these? They're too short. It's like there's no money to buy fabric!" Deiji complained as she removed the blanket covering her body and saw her exposed house.
Noah was pleased with the energetic response from Deiji.
"Daisy's. Whose else?" Noah replied, so Deiji slapped him.
"So, you saved me." Deiji slightly smiled, but a tear escaped from her eyes.
"D-did... he?"
"No!" Deiji quickly interrupted Noah.
"But... you were-"
Deiji cuts him off as she hugs Noah.
"Thank you." Noah hugged her back and comforted her.
He could still feel the fear in Deiji because of her trembling, so he assumed that nothing bad happened to Deiji, contrary to what they thought. She trusts Deiji. If Deiji said no. It means, no.
He wanted to ask what exactly happened, but he could not. It's not the right time is what Noah's thinking.
"Damn you!" Deiji immediately separated from Noah when she heard a loud noise from outside the room they were coming from.
Deiji knows it's Michelle. She wonders why might happen for Michelle to shout and curse that loud.
Still in pain, she tried to stand up to see what was happening outside the room. Noah quickly followed her to guard her in case she suddenly fell.
"He's not just my brother, he's my twin! He's one of us! How could you all suggest leaving him behind!" Deiji opens the door and sees Michelle, who has mixed emotions.
Fear, sadness, anger, and disappointment.
"What the hell is happening here?" Deiji calmly asks all of them who gather in front of Michelle.
"Ate Deiji!" Michelle switches to an innocent persona and runs towards her to give her a hug.
"Ate Deiji, they said we're moving out, but they want to leave Michael." She complained like a child. Deiji is always the one who stands up for the twins whenever they get bullied.
