Capítulo 15: Leave no one behind
"It's for our safety!" Daisy shouted at them.
"Are you the one who suggested it?" Deiji asked Daisy calmly, with a furrowed brow and a sideways glance at her.
"Yes! And they all agree with me." Daisy proudly replied, pointing to her companions and rolling her eyes at Deiji.
Deiji noticed Roy and Christ, but the rest are not currently with them. She noticed Myrna, Glenn, Yuki, and Bianca were missing.
"Let's vote. Majority wins." Deiji calmly replied, but with emphasis. Enough to quiet Daisy down.
Deiji walked towards where Michael was staying to check up on him. She was about to open the door when Noah stopped her.
"What is it?" Deiji asked Noah, puzzled.
"It's too dangerous, Deiji. Plus, you're not in good condition." Noah expressed concern and placed his hands on her shoulders to stop her from entering.
Deiji chuckled fakely.
"Do I need to be in good condition before checking on one of my closest friends?" Deiji raised an eyebrow at Noah and glanced at the others present, watching the two of them.
Daisy just rolled her eyes again and irritatedly scratched her head.
"Just let her, Noah. Don't stop her!" Daisy snapped at Noah.
Noah reluctantly let go of Deiji's shoulders and quietly stepped aside. Despite his hesitation, he knew he wouldn't win against Daisy. So, he had to accompany her to protect her if needed.
"A-Ate Deiji…" Michelle, weak and pitiful, managed to greet her friend.
Deiji felt her companions following her from inside.
"Michael!" Michelle, in excitement, ran towards her twin.
"Stop!"
Surprised, Michelle abruptly stopped at her brother's loud command.
"Please, stay away from me. I-I don't want to hurt anyone. I don't want to hurt you." Michael pleaded, his voice trembling.
Michael knew he would turn into a zombie too, and it depended on his body how long he could resist the virus that entered his body.
The twins burst into tears together. They didn't know what to say to each other, but seeing that they were both okay was enough.
Everyone was surprised when Deiji suddenly approached Michael and hugged him.
"Deiji!" Noah shouted from the bottom of his heart.
"Ate D-Deiji…" Michael was also surprised by his sister's actions and hugged her tightly.
Michelle also approached the two and joined the hug. The three of them embraced each other. Michelle and Deiji wanted Michael to feel that they were always by his side no matter what happens.
"They're so stupid. They'll make your life easier." Daisy crossed her arms and rolled her eyes at them.
Roy and Christ followed, now feeling somewhat embarrassed and unsure if it was right to agree to leave Michael behind for their own sake.
Glenn wondered while looking outside from the terrace. Even though no one was accusing or blaming him, he knew he was responsible for the harm that happened to his two friends.
If Noah had been with Deiji, what happened to Deiji wouldn't have happened. And Michael wouldn't have been bitten if they had gone straight back without any mishaps.
"What are you thinking?" He looked at Myrna, who brought coffee and handed it to him.
"Thank you." He took a sip and sighed after.
"I'm thinking that it's my fault. All the bad things happen because of me." He smiled bitterly after saying that to Myrna and took another sip of coffee.
"It's not your fault. No one wants what happens to them, to us. Don't be too hard on yourself. I know they don't blame you either." Myrna sweetly smiled at Glenn to cheer him up.
"You look innocent." Glenn changed the subject.
Myrna's cheeks turned red because it was the first time she had been called innocent. She's not good at talking to a guy face to face. It's true that she looks innocent. In addition to her facial expression and the way she dresses. Glenn only noticed it now because he was so focused on their mission earlier.
"Glenn, Myrna. Come down. We're going to talk about some serious and important matters." The two looked at each other when Roy suddenly appeared.
Glenn and Myrna also glanced at each other.
"Deiji, how are you feeling?" Glenn asked immediately when he saw Deiji on the sofa playing with Zebby.
"Better." She replied briefly because she was busy playing with the child.
"I'm sorry." Glenn uttered weakly, but Deiji heard him.
"For what?" Deiji innocently asked.
Deiji knows what Glenn was talking about, but she doesn't want to talk about it to burden him anymore.
Glenn looked away, but Deiji just smiled at him, assuring him that everything was fine. Everything is fine.
"So, for tonight's meeting, it's about vot-" Daisy's sentence was interrupted by Deiji.
"I called all of you just to tell you that no one will be left behind."
"What?!" Daisy shouted again at Deiji.
Daisy approached Deiji and shook her off.
"You told me a while ago that we're going to vote for Michael. If we were to leave him or not," Daisy shouted, still irritated.
Daisy has a personal dislike for Deiji. She likes Noah, but she thinks that Deiji keeps taking him away from her. Noah is her partner on a blind date, so she believes Noah should be hers only.
"Did I say that? Let me apologize," Deiji smirked at Daisy and handed Zebby to Yuki.
"Excuse me, Daisy. We were so thankful because your house became our safehouse for today. But I think you're being too much," Yuki calmly retorted.
"That's what I keep telling her!" Michelle pointedly cried out to Daisy.
"Not because you help us doesn't mean you have the right to tell us what to do," Glenn disagreed about leaving Michael behind.
"Guys, say something!" Daisy looked at Roy and Christ, but both of them looked away.
"Argh! It's for our safety!" Daisy insisted again.
"Myrna!" She called her friend's name, implying that Myrna should be on her side. Myrna also looked away, which caused Daisy to shout very loudly.
"I'm a bitch, not a witch," Bianca teased Daisy, who was almost going crazy because she felt everyone was conspiring against her.
"If you're not comfortable with Michael being around, you can stay here. Or… Go by yourself," Deiji suggested to annoy her.
Daisy looked at Noah, who just gave her an emotionless look. Feeling extremely embarrassed, she suddenly ran upstairs and locked herself in her room.
